Howdy gang, It's a good post again this week, and we will be getting back to more regular posts again soon...
Because...
The club is back from summer shut down (almost). The countdown is on, and we are hoping that you are all raring to go for a new club year.
Tuesday September 8th will be the usual slide back in to proceedings with a bring in and chat session. PLease bring up to twelve recentish images for a little run through and chit chat. We will be strict on the twelve, as some people (including our chairman) find it hard to wittle it down and hope that we don't notice. This can sometimes result in other members not getting a fair showing, so please engage some discipline and stick to the allowance.

At a recent get together, there was conversation about using smart phones for photography and the aprehension that it can sometimes be looked down on. We pride ourselves on not being photography snobs, and welcome all and sundry to partake in the joys. I can also use this oppurtunity for this weeks linky, as whenever I hear this kind of talk, I refer people to the followng website and annual awards...

Howdy clubbers, friends and fans.
Our next Sunday outing is coming up and this one should be a great opportunity for something a bit different to what we usually see at the club.

📅 Sunday 23rd August
📍 Nunhead Cemetery
⏰ Meet at Nunhead Station from 10:30am, shoot starts 11:00am

Nunhead Cemetery is one of London’s famous “Big Seven” Victorian cemeteries, and we'll be using two locations within the grounds for our photoshoot, with access via firm paths.
We’ll also have our model joining us, and all the necessary permissions with the Southwark Film Office are in place, so we're good to go.

Getting there:
With extra trains running on the Victoria line via Lewisham due to the temporary closure of Charing Cross, getting to Nunhead Station should be fairly straightforward.
Coming by car:
There are a limited number of free parking spaces on Linden Grove, close to the cemetery's main entrance. SE15 3LP

And, of course, there’s a social afterwards.
Once we've finished shooting, we'll head over to the Old Nun's Head on Nunhead Green, an award-winning 1930s pub with plenty of character and a quirky history.
They also do a very substantial Sunday roast.
If you'd like to join us for lunch afterwards, please let us know ASAP so we can book enough tables.

A few things to remember:
As usual, this isn't an official camera club meeting, it's a social event arranged by our Chairman.
The model isn't funded by the club, so if you'd like to contribute towards the cost, please speak to Peter on the day. This is entirely discretionary and is certainly not expected or enforced.

Look after yourself and your gear.
Please remember that everyone is responsible for their own equipment and personal safety. That said, we'll be working as a group and looking out for each other along the way.

Most importantly, no gear or experience snobbery.
We're all there to enjoy ourselves, learn from each other and share ideas. We have photographers with different levels of experience, using different brands and types of gear, and that's exactly what makes these outings so much fun.
So don't worry about what camera you're carrying or how much experience you have. Ask questions, offer advice when it's wanted, share ideas and make use of the collective “hive mind”.
Let's make this a fun, friendly and enjoyable outing for everyone.
Cameras charged, batteries packed and memory cards emptied, ready for action.

How do clubbers. I've beena naughty boy and didn't do a weekly last week. We are in a new month now, and will be hosting our final two summer socials. The first is next Tuesday and we will be heading to Greenwich Peninsular. There is plenty to photograph around there, such as architecture, art installations, people, river stuff and other stuff. It should be a good one, so don't be shy, come and join us.

Tuesday Evening Outing – Greenwich Riverside
Tuesday 11th August – 7:00pm
Join us for an evening photography walk along the beautiful Greenwich riverside as we capture one of London's most iconic locations in the golden evening light.
With several years since our last official visit, this is a great opportunity to photograph the stunning architecture of the Old Royal Naval College, the historic Cutty Sark, and the striking modern buildings that line the Thames upstream. Whether you enjoy architecture, street photography, landscapes or long exposures, there's something here for everyone.
We'll meet outside the Water Way entrance/exit of Greenwich DLR Station at 7:00pm before heading off to explore the area. Afterwards, anyone who wishes is welcome to join us for refreshments at The Trafalgar Tavern.
Photographers of all abilities are welcome, don't forget your camera, comfortable walking shoes and, if you have one, a tripod for those evening long exposure shots.

Also, I have a linky for you... only one, even though you missed out last week. That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I'm sure that it will be worth it though, so get your peepers on this and let the creative juices flow.

Howdy fans. We had another Tuesday social this past week, and took a trundle up to Chislehurst. We had a little wander around a church graveyard, the Royal Parade (or something like that) and around some older and more unusal houses etc around the common. We ended up, purely by chance, at a nice pub where it would have been rude not to have popped in for a cold drink and bit of chit chat. Although, as you can see from the picture below, our chairman and tour guide for the night, had his laughing gear otherwise engaged...
Our next meetup is in a little way away, but not too long. We will be visiting Brooklands again for another classic car meet up. Not purely American this time around, so should be something to suit everyone.

Gadzooks, I've done it again. I have completely misplaced several days. Although it was quite nice Thursday when I found it that it was actually Friday. That always makes it a nicer day at work.
Anyway, we do have something to say this week, and apologies fro leaving it late, but we're here now.
We will be having our second Tuesday evening social, with cameras. A little jaunt out to Chislehurst to see if there is some snapworthy shenanigans for us. We will be winding the evening up in a local pub for a devrief and lubricant before heading home, so even if you don't feel the desire to snap away, you are welcome to come for some chat and refreshments.

Howdy doodly peeps,
Well, as is usual for this time of year... it much to report.
We do have a Tuesdya social coming up, but that is a couple of weeks away still, so I don't really know what to say. There may be a couple of last minute ad hoc gatherings, but usualy organised alst minute so probably won't get posted here. If, however, you are a current member, we will usually ahce discussions on the whats'app, so keep a check on that.

Anywho, I know you're only here for the linky, and seeing as we are an inclusive club (as all other clubs are anyway) I thought that we should promote those female types and jolly well encourage them to get on board with this photography malarky.

D'oh... I completely fuddled my dates and there was a Sunday social last week. It was the Hever Castle jobbie, and Peter was there in period garb as ususal. This year, and we do (unfrtunately) have photographic evidence from one of our other clubbers... Peter was dressed ready to cool himself with adip in some water (although he did stay dry). It wasn't budgie smugglers and slippery ni**le (cocktail), but a 1940s bathing costume that left plenty to the imagination.
Anyway, that is our June socials done and dusted. The next one is in a couple of weeks, and we will start, as usual, with a Tuesday evening saunter.

We will be meeting in Chislehurst ofr a light wander and maybe some refreshements.
If you usually just pass through on the way to Bromley, this is your excuse to actually stop and look around. The area offers plenty of photographic interest, including the historic St. Nicholas Church, all within easy walking distance of Prickend Pond and Chislehurst Common. The common itself is bordered by several early 20th-century Arts and Crafts buildings, so there’s a good mix of subjects to keep everyone busy.
Afterwards, for those who fancy it, we’ll head over to The Queen’s Head for a well-earned drink and a bit of a wind-down.

AAAAnnnd it's the magic time again... LINKYYYYYY. Seeing as it is chuffin' hot out there at the moment, you may fell the need to get out and stay cool when taking photos, so why not have a bit of this...
