Porthleven under the Stars. Always wondered where all the photographers stand to get the shots of the huge waves when there’s a storm. So, the obvious time to find out would be at night! Took this shot while we waited for about 2 hours for a car to drive down the hill behind the church - one did and it looked amazing, but of course my camera wasn’t pointing that way at the time! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Next visit ……🤞🏻🤓

Amazing foggy conditions at Edgbaston Reservoir from the other week - the sun had just risen as the dense fog descended to make the most beautiful lighting conditions for about 3 minutes. You wouldn’t think I was in the city at all when it looks like this.

Pre Sunrise at the Reservoir - the forecast was for dense fog, so thought I’d head out to my local spot last Saturday. Some lovely pinks and oranges pre sunrise, but only a little fog, so didn’t get what I was expecting. And then, just as the sun was about to peak over the horizon, the promised fog descended! It was amazing to watch it drift towards me across the reservoir and watch the Birmingham skyline disappear 🙈 I’ll post some of the shots I got while enveloped by the fog later.

After trying astrophotography a few times over the last couple of years, I think I finally have a completed shot that I’m fairly pleased with! 🙂 it’s definitely the most difficult photography that I have ever done - from being in the right location at the right time of year with the right weather conditions, to getting the camera set up right in the dark to capture the images (this is a blend of 2, one for the foreground and another for the stars), to the editing. Everything seems to be a challenge! I’m going to get this one printed I think to keep me motivated to keep trying Astro. Thank you to for all the patience shown dealing with my Astro frustrations over the years! 😝🤓
