Photos by Sarah E Kelly I have created this page as a space to share my photography with anyone who feels drawn to landscapes, wildlife and the kind of moments that make you pause.

You may also get one or two photos of my dog, but she is cute I’ve created this page as a space to share my photography with anyone who feels drawn to landscapes, curious creatures, and the kind of moments that make you pause. Until now, most of my photos have lived quietly among friends but I wanted to open the doors a little wider. Whether you’re here for nature, travel or just a bit of visual calm, I’m glad you’ve found your way in.

Something I’ve been doing for a couple of years now is this: if I like a photo but feel a bit nervous about posting it, whether I’m unsure if the edit is right, wondering if it’s even that good, or staring at it thinking ‘what on earth would the caption be’ I add it to my screensaver collection first. It gives me time to think about them properly, even if I don’t actually change anything.

For me, taking the photo and editing it is so much easier than actually posting it. And honestly… I have so many photos in that screensaver collection now.

This one has been popping up for months, and I haven’t changed a thing since the day I added it. I just had no idea what to write. Half the time I think, ‘Maybe I’ll just post it without a caption,’ and then that silly little algorithm‑voice in my head goes, ‘Well… no one will see it if you do.’ Which is ridiculous, because all I really want is to get my photos out there. So here I am, posting it anyway and asking the question: does anyone else do this, or is it just me?

If you know me, you know I’m rubbish at remembering the names of birds and this one was no different. I was even told on the Namibia trip, and of course it went straight out of my head. After months of seeing it pop up, I finally looked it up… it’s a helmeted guineafowl

Peaceful moment, right? Yeah… five minutes later the sky turned dark, the rain came in sideways, and I was sprinting to the car trying to shield my camera with the dog running alongside me. Typical Irish weather doing its thing.

A quiet wander through Hafren Forest last March with the dog.
The kind of place you leave but never really forget. I can’t wait to go back there again.

The Rock of Dunamase, County Laois.

“While planning my Ireland road trip I discovered a little gem, the hill of Knocknasheega from one of my favourite Disney films growing up was inspired by the Rock of Dunamase.
This hilltop fortress has seen everything from Viking raids to medieval kings, but wandering around the ruins brought back childhood memories: the echo of King Brian promising ‘three wishes I’ll grant ye…’ with his usual warning about getting greedy, and my grandad trying to scare us kids with his dramatic banshee impressions. It took me right back to those childhood moments.”

We’d just reached the end of a trail when our guide started explaining the fence and how that road was part of a restricted area in the park. I was half listening, half scanning through my camera lens to see what I could spot—and there it was.

Almost invisible to the eye, but through my lens, there it was. We couldn’t get any closer, but I still remember the excitement in that moment.
