Happy Monday I hope you had a wonderful weekend and were able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

I ended last week in London, I travelled up for some team headshots to to add to and update headshots for a team I have worked with in the past.

It was a pleasure to work with the new members to create their headshots, I can't wait to share them with you.

After that I had an some amazing Shawarma and saw a few friends before making the 3 hour journey home. My favourite Shawarma place, Beirut Express closed down in the pandemic and since then I've been looking for it's replacement, I think I have found it, it's a place called Al-Arez, recommended by Rishma. Thanks Rishma!

I loved working with Tammy on our summer photoshoot, one day in August when we were blessed with gorgeous weather we took a walk down through the gardens and found some beautiful spots for pictures.

Portrait sessions are another of my favourite services that I provide, I love meeting new people and working with them to help them relax in front of the camera so that we can create some beautiful images with meaning and impact that will resonate and evoke emotions in the viewer.

A portrait session is a great way to celebrate where you are in your life at that moment, maybe it is to celebrate a birthday, maybe it is to celebrate a goal that you have achieved or something else!

These are a few of my favourite pictures from my portrait session with Anum, back from my university days when I was still honing my skills. Anum was a real pleasure to work with and gave me the space and time to try out new techniques and ideas and while not everything worked the way I wanted it to, I am really happy with the images that we came out with.

Engagement photoshoots are one of my favourite services that I provide, I love meeting new couples who are so in love with each other and want to create some pictures to celebrate this beautiful time in their lives as individuals and also at that time in their relationship.

An engagement photoshoot is a great way to get to know your photographer, how they work and it is a great insight as to how they will work with you and your family and friends on your wedding day.

These are a few of my favourite pictures that Nausheen, Kabeer and myself and my assistant created on the streets of Central London a few years ago.

Sometimes I catch my future brides and grooms lost in the moment, it's almost like I'm not there, and they are just enjoying each other's company.

I love the catch light in her eye (that little bit of light shining in her eye) and her expression,

For me it is a very emotive picture and one of the bride's favourites too!

Let's switch things up and throw in a picture from my very first engagement session, all the way back in 2013, 10 years ago! What a journey it has been.

I thought they live by the sea, let's go to the beach, the light will be good and we can we finish just before sunset but 5 minutes into our shoot I found out they didn't really like the beach and preferred green spaces, so we packed up and headed to our second location.

What did I learn? Always ask your couple questions, find out what they like, what they do not like, have a dialogue.

Did you know we also photograph non-wedding related events?

We were recently invited to attend and photograph the first in a series of events on Women's Empowerment. As an observer it was interesting to hear the experiences, challenges and struggles that many women face in this day and age and it is equally wonderful that so many women are coming together to share their knowledge and to help empower other women who are still climbing their own ladders.

We want to say a big thank you to the organisers and audience for being so accommodating to us and we can't wait to see what the next event has to offer!

I hope you are all having a Wonderful Wednesday!

I've been going through going through my archives and organising my old work and stumbled across the second engagement session I'd ever photographed (back in 2013, 10 years ago!), I remember being so excited to try all these extravagant poses but I quickly learned it is less about the pose and more about the moment, setting the scene to ensure the couple are feeling comfortable and relaxed and once you have achieved that, you will notice a difference and they will be more present in the moment.
