Abandoned theatre.. trapped in time

Here are some pictures of interactions with police and security... and guess what... no further action was taken... we were asked to leave which we did.
And thats because tresspass is a civil matter !!

Just to remind every one what I do is not a criminal act. Here is some legislation from the police website.

Trespass to land in most instances is a civil matter, and as such the police do not have the power to assist. Initially, the landowner should ask the trespasser to leave the land and if he/she does then all is well. If he/she refuses to leave the land then you will need to consider taking civil action. It could be dangerous for the landowner to try to remove the trespasser themselves.

The owner of the land could commit several criminal offences if he forcibly removes the trespasser and his/her property from the land. The best and safest course of action is to obtain a court order, which, if breached, can then become a criminal matter.

If the police do attend an incident such as this, they are merely there as observers for any possible criminal offences committed by either party. The police cannot assist in the removal of the trespassers or their property from the land in question. However the police do have some removal powers against larger groups of occupiers.

Any damage done by a trespasser, or use of threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour towards the occupier, may amount to a criminal offence

This Restaurant opened in October 2023. It served Japanese and Asian cuisine, including sushi, Thai mains, noodles, and katsu curry, with options for an all-you-can-eat menu.

It unfortunately closed late 2025 and to this day never reopened.

It was once a theatre...

The Independent Methodist Church on founded in 1848 and built in 1868, is a Grade II listed building known for its exceptionally preserved, historic interior. As of late 2025, plans are in progress to convert this former chapel into nine apartments, aiming to ensure its long-term future

It is noted for a "completely intact interior" with original pews and a raked gallery, which is considered very rare for nonconformist chapels.

"The ground floor has open and box pews and pulpit.
"The raked gallery around a central oval well, has intact box pews throughout and organ behind the pulpit.
"This interior is exceptionally rare in such non-conformist chapels, most having been altered or lost entirely.
“The district has minimal other comparable examples.”
