Sorting through prints, frames and canvases for my next two exhibitions — a joyful, messy delight.

I’m pairing large, bold works with smaller, intimate pieces so each wall tells a different story: colour and impact up close, quiet detail from a step back.

Today’s task: test layouts on the floor, check light, and decide which pieces need fresh mounts or frames.

Every choice is about balance — scale, rhythm and how a viewer moves through the room.

Can’t wait to share the final hang with you — watch this space for dates and sneak peeks.

Found!

These gorgeous intricate origami pieces captured my attention

The origami crane symbolizes peace, hope, and healing in Japanese culture, often associated with the legend that folding 1,000 cranes grants a wish.

A few weeks back in a lovely coorperative Gallery run by marigami p'tits plis who makes these wonderful pieces amongst others.

Why not allow the human brain to decay for the want of effort, time, practice?

Why not allow the planet to decay for the making of the tools that decay our humanity, individuality and spirit?

Is this really the world we want future generations to inherit from us?

Do we want future humans to be our "cleaners", clearing up our crime scenes, created out of greed and ruination?

Is this to be our legacy?

In addition to the perpetuation of hate, exclusion, war, wealth of the very few to the detriment of the many

Zoom in for a second.

If you look closely at the center of this pink poppy, you will see a tiny, hidden world and part of it looks like a midget gem.

Most people just walk past the bright petals, missing the delicate, fuzzy textures and the dark, dusty pollen grains waiting for a passing bee.

It is easy to move through life on autopilot, staring at our screens or rushing to the next task.

But when we slow down, we realize that incredible details are hiding in plain sight right outside our front doors.

Today, challenge yourself to pause.

Put your phone away for five minutes, step outside, and really look around your neighborhood.

You might be surprised by the beauty you have been missing.

Excited to share new work in my upcoming exhibition with with 4 other fabulous artists

— a celebration of the textures, colours and tiny details I keep finding in the world.

I’ve printed pieces on different papers as well as my favourites

Each image carries its own surface, weight and mood.

My salad was amazing, such a great mix of flavours, really well balanced.

3 Years!!!!

Yes really 3 years, this week.
MAY 2023 - Lleft the world of corporate big tech employment

Start of 2024 - the shift
Full time Photographer and creative, a sole trader, small business at a time of huge world shifts

Not getting on to the detail of what all of that has looked like

I get to do fun stuff, hard graft too, with lows and highs and everything in between

Most noticably
I am happier, have clearer boundaries, don't feel like I am working (yet I do, work hard, invest time, effort and resource)

I create from love, curiosity, learning (sheer bloody mindedness at times)

Beautiful photographs in limited editions of 10

FINALLY, I can say out loud I am an Artist & Photographer (some folks on this crazy life journey know what THAT has taken to say loud & proud)
