I'm quite delighted to say that these photographs I took of my dad have been selected to be shown as part of 'The People's Garden' exhibition, running alongside 'Is This A Garden?' at the Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool. They'll be up for the rest of August so if you happen to be in the city please go say hi to them!!
The main exhibition has work by some photographers I really admire, such as SiaΜn Davey , so it's quite lovely to think my images will be in the same room!

Through the later stages of early-onset Alzheimer's, my dad retained a pure and infectious sense of fun and wonder. He also became unexpectedly enamoured with aeroplanes - keeping a lookout for them in the sky, throwing models in the air and spinning himself around, arms outstretched. He would look up at planes, and subsequently birds too, and say wistfully, "If only"...if only he could fly. π©΅
