CALLING ALL CAREWORKERS!!

We'd like YOU to help test our new online learning platform -Neurocare Knowhow. We need you to view the short films and podcasts, complete an online questionnaire and give us your honest feedback. Shopping vouchers will be given to all testers!

Neurocare Knowhow has been developed in collaboration with care workers and people with neurological conditions. It takes a symptom led approach to learning about neurological conditions, and includes learning around diverse conditions, such as Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy and multiple system atrophy.

The Neurocare KnowHow team are the University of Sheffield, NIHR Devices for Dignity, Ammba Digital and Optical Jukebox

I'm very proud to have been director of photography on a recent live-streamed performance of 'Outlier' at Bristol Old Vic. Translating theatre into cinema is a challenge and one that is new to BOV and to us too but everyone put their creative minds together and the results were fantastic! They also received a well deserved four-star review in the Guardian.

Today we launch the myBreathing website - supporting people living with MND/ALS to make choices around options for breathing support, such as non-invasive ventilation. It features short films with real life stories, as well as expert clinical advice.

Created in collaboration with Sheffield MND Care Centre, Manchester MND Care Centre, North West Ventilation Unit and the MND Association. Funded and supported by the South Yorkshire and Manchester and District branches of the MND Association.

Proud to see our portraits of the stars of our documentary ‘Yemeni Dreams, Sheffield Steel’ on display in Kelham Island Museum, as part of the ‘1916: steel, steam and power’ showcase. Exciting planning underway for a 12 min version of the film to become part of the permanent exhibition, showing the diverse communities that built the Steel City!

Hurray! We won! A big team of us put a lot of hard work and love into making the myTube website, and now we've won 2 awards and runner up in another at the BMA's Patient Information Awards! A group of patients, carers, clinicians, researchers, digital wizards and us filmmakers collaborated to make this resource for peopel with MND considering having a feeding tube.

The amazing Jason Liversidge and his wife Elizabeth Liversidge (of our myTube website team) are at it again! Jason is terminally ill and paralysed due to MND. That won't stop him though! He's just climbed Snowdon in an electric wheelchair, and now this Sunday they'll abseil off the Humber Bridge! Please sponsor him - this man is fundraising legend, and his legacy to the world is awe inspiring!

A terminally ill man is to complete his next daring challenge by abseiling down the Humber Bridge.

This is down to the amazing team of patients, carers, clinicians, researchers, the MND Association, and the digital makers we worked with over a good few months collaborating on this last summer and autumn.

A double doc film dose to follow Doc/Fest last week - Banyamulenge (João Paulo Simões) with Q&A and I Call You Yemen - both exploring the effects of conflict and massacres. Members of theBanyamulenge community living in the UK will be at this screening, and the makers of both films will be in attendance. 7pm, free (donations) at Cafe #9, Nether Edge, Sheffield.
