On this special day, I wasn’t only the videographer… 🎥🤍
In between filming, I also managed to capture a little photoshoot of the newlyweds. 📸

And looking at the results, I’m so glad we did it. 🥹
Sometimes the most beautiful shots happen completely spontaneously.

🇬🇧 Behind the camera… ❤️

Usually, I’m the one filming everyone else — capturing their emotions, tears, smiles and moments they’ll want to remember forever.

But this time, my husband captured me.

I was filming my brother’s wedding… and crying at the same time. 🥹❤️
Because in that moment, I wasn’t only the videographer behind the camera. I was his sister.

Some moments are impossible to film without feeling them yourself. ❤️

Обычно именно я снимаю других — ловлю их эмоции, слёзы, улыбки и моменты, которые хочется сохранить навсегда.

Но в этот раз мой муж снял меня.

Я снимала свадьбу своего брата… и одновременно плакала. 🥹❤️
Потому что в этот момент я была не просто видеографом за камерой. Я была его сестрой.

Есть моменты, которые невозможно просто снимать — их проживаешь вместе со всеми. ❤️

Sometimes people think — what’s so difficult about being a videographer? You take your phone or camera, press “record”, capture some beautiful moments and then put the video together. 🎥

But in reality, it’s completely different.

Before the wedding, I had so many ideas in my head. I had planned different shots, transitions and Reels that I wanted to create. I thought I had everything planned.

Then the actual day came… and half of those plans simply disappeared somewhere along the way. 😅

Everything happens so quickly. People are moving, plans change, moments happen unexpectedly, and you’re constantly thinking about what you cannot miss. You’re looking for emotions, little details, glances, the right angle… and suddenly you realise that some of the shots you planned never happened.

I even left a few Reels unfinished. Now I’m looking through all the footage and thinking about how I can finish them with what I have. Maybe I can. I hope so. 🤍

But the hardest part this time was that this wasn’t just another wedding where I was the videographer.

It was my brother’s wedding.

And trying to be both a sister and a videographer was much harder than I expected.

I couldn’t simply sit down, look around and enjoy everything as a guest. My mind was constantly working — where should I be next, what should I film, what moment can’t I miss?

And only now, while watching the footage, I feel like I’m actually experiencing the wedding myself. I’m noticing the emotions, looks and little moments that I saw through my screen that day but didn’t really have time to feel.

So believe me — being a videographer is not simply “pressing a button and filming.”

It can be physically and emotionally exhausting, especially when the people on the other side of your camera are the people you love. ❤️

And I think only now I truly understand how much of themselves a videographer leaves inside every video.

To be honest, I hadn’t listened to Latvian folk songs for such a long time. 🇱🇻🎶 It was so interesting to hear songs that suddenly brought back memories of my childhood and school years, when we used to sing them at school. 😊

As we get older, many of these songs somehow disappear from our everyday lives and memories. But sometimes all it takes is hearing them again, and suddenly the melodies, words and little moments from childhood come back.

It’s really nice to bring those memories and traditions back to life once in a while. ❤️🇱🇻
