The tree had a tail today.

A flicker of copper against old moss and weathered bark, perfectly still just long enough to look like it belonged there. Tiny ears up, sunlight in its fur, and suddenly the forest giant had a little bit of mischief clinging to its side.

As dawn broke over Angkor Thom, this lone monk walked beneath the ancient faces of Bayon, creating one of those moments that lasts far longer than the click of a shutter.

Some places are built to be noticed. Others simply belong.

For centuries, St Catherine's Chapel has watched over the Dorset landscape, standing quietly above the rolling hills with Chesil Beach and The Fleet stretching into the distance. Empires have risen and fallen, coastlines have changed, yet this small chapel continues to overlook it all.

It's a view that never seems to lose its magic.

It's easy to forget just how small we are until you stand beneath a tree like this.

Looking up from its base, the trunk seems to disappear into the canopy above, a reminder that some of nature's greatest creations don't need dramatic colours or perfect weather to leave a lasting impression.

Sometimes, simply stopping and looking up is enough.

The waves have been shaping this coastline for thousands of years, but for a brief chapter in its history, people transformed it.

The engine house at Wheal Coates stands as a reminder of Cornwall's rich mining heritage, where men once worked beneath these cliffs in search of tin. Today, nature has reclaimed the landscape, leaving behind one of the most striking coastal scenes in Britain.

It's a place where history and the sea exist side by side.

Some trees don't just grow... they endure.

Long before roads, cameras or maps, this ancient oak was already taking root. Every scar, hollow and twisted limb tells part of a story that no one alive has witnessed from the beginning.

Standing beneath it, you can't help but wonder how many seasons it has seenโ€”and how many more it still has left to tell.

There are some landscapes that remind you just how small you are.

Standing above Old Harry Rocks, with the sea below and the wind coming in off the Channel, it's impossible not to pause for a moment. The cliffs have stood here for thousands of years, shaped by the sea one storm at a time, while we only get to borrow the view for a few minutes.

Places like this have a way of putting everything into perspective.

Every woodland has its own character.

This silver birch caught my eye immediately, standing proudly above the heather as soft light filtered through the trees. No grand vistaโ€”just a peaceful corner of the New Forest that was too beautiful to walk past.

There's something about the great cathedrals that makes the world outside seem to disappear.

As I stood beneath these soaring arches at Wells Cathedral, I found myself watching a single visitor crossing the floor in silence. In a building that has stood for more than 800 years, it was a reminder of how many countless footsteps these stones have witnessed.

Sometimes the grandest places leave the quietest impressions.

Originally built in the early 12th century as a Hindu temple, Angkor Wat later became a Buddhist temple and is now the largest religious monument in the world.

Seeing the first light of day fall across this remarkable place was an unforgettable experience.
