Hiya everyone

I am so sorry I have neglected this page a little. We have been enjoying some adventures and doing things a little different from Urbex.

All being well, this weekend we will be back out urbexing.

Something a little different at the moment. We are currently away on our camping adventures. This is Ingleton waterfalls trail, nothing better than the beauty of nature.

I do have lots of photos to put up from abandoned buildings, but I need to get on my laptop to do them. So content will be coming soon.

The History & Future of St James'

The school grounds sit on a site of deep heritage—originally serving as the vineyard for Bury St Edmunds' medieval Benedictine abbey.

44 Years of Education: Opened in 1972, St James Church of England Middle School welcomed generations of local pupils, providing 44 years of community-focused learning and Church of England values.

The school permanently closed its doors in 2016. This came as part of Suffolk County Council’s county-wide reorganization, shifting from a three-tier system (first, middle, upper) to a two-tier model (primary and secondary education).

Following its closure, plans were approved to preserve the historic core of the school while redeveloping the site into homes. While outlying buildings are being cleared, the original main structure is being thoughtfully restored and converted into apartments—giving this local landmark a brand-new purpose while honoring its past.

Built in 1989 for over £25 million, this colossal mansion was created as a high-security refuge for royal elites during the Gulf War.
Equipped with bulletproof glass, an underground pool, a squash court, and a banquet hall, the property was designed for absolute luxury... but the owners never spent a single night inside
For over 30 years, it sat completely vacant, decaying in silence while crates of imported marble and glass sat unopened in the hallways classic "buy-to-leave" luxury left to rot.
Then in 2023, a massive fire gutted the entire interior, leaving only the iconic white columns and burnt brick shell standing.
could you imagine just having £25Million and just letting it rot away?

Marmalade Cottage

It earned its nickname because the house was filled with an extraordinary amount of empty and full Marmite jars on almost every shelf, counter, and surface throughout the kitchen and living spaces.

Beyond the infamous Marmite collection, the cottage is famous for its classic time capsule state, featuring an upright piano, piles of vintage newspapers, personal letters, household items, and two rusting classic cars decaying in the overgrown driveway.

According to local urbex lore and public land reports, the property was abruptly abandoned in the late 2000s/early 2010s due to legal troubles involving the former owner, leaving the entire house and its contents untouched for years.

Unfortunately there was no access to the property, but we got to photograph the vehicles and experience an aggressive neighbour who insisted we were breaking the law taking photo's.
