😂 Well… I finally found out what I’ve been doing wrong on Facebook!
Apparently, I’ve been too popular. 😂🤖
Over the summer, some of my photos and concert posts went a little crazy, bringing in millions of views and a huge number of comments.
Naturally, I tried to reply to as many of you as possible — thanking you, answering questions and having a bit of banter.
Turns out replying to loads of people in quick succession can make Facebook’s automated systems think:
“Hang on… this bloke’s a BOT!” 🤖🤣
So after weeks of trying to work out what on earth was going on, I’ve finally been told I’m on temporary restrictions and need to slow down my activity and cool off for a while. 😂
And the photo? This is me in isolation until Facebook decides I’m human again. 🏝️🤖😂
They tried to shut me down… turns out I was just replying to too many of you! 😂
The good news is SM Droneography isn’t going anywhere. 🚁📸
So if you leave a lovely comment and I don’t reply or react, I’m genuinely not ignoring you. I’ll still be reading them all. ❤️
Apparently I now have to prove to Facebook that I’m not a bot by being quieter, replying less and even posting a little less for a while… which is going to be difficult for me. 😂😂
So if things seem a little quieter on here, I haven’t disappeared — I’m just serving my Facebook cool-down period. 🤖🧊😂

🏰 St Michael’s Mount glowing red over Mount’s Bay ❤️
A pretty special sight tonight, with St Michael’s Mount illuminated red for Air Ambulance Week. 🚁❤️
The tide revealing that famous causeway, calm water below and that incredible red glow standing out against the moody Cornish sky.
Very pleased I managed to capture this one during our trip to Cornwall. 📸

Well… there’s no avoiding it now. 😬😂

🎂 I’M 50 TODAY! 🎂

Half a century… how on earth did that happen?! 😂

I’ve escaped to Cornwall with my amazing wife and girls for the week to celebrate the big one, and I honestly couldn’t think of a better place to spend it. ❤️

Life has certainly thrown a few things at me lately, but today none of that matters.

I’ve got an amazing family, some brilliant friends, made some incredible memories and somehow this little hobby of flying a drone and taking pictures has led to over 17,000 of you following my adventures. 🚁📸

I genuinely never imagined that when I first started SM Droneography.

So a massive thank you to everyone who follows the page, likes, comments, shares my photos or just quietly enjoys seeing them pop up on their feed. Your support means more than you probably realise. ❤️

Apparently 50 is a milestone…

I prefer to think of it as Chapter 50. 😎

Plenty more places to visit, photos to take, drones to fly and memories to make.

Here’s to the next chapter! 🥂🎂❤️

P.S. Mentally I’m still about 30. My knees strongly disagree. 😂

🚁 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO MY DRONE FRIENDS 😂
Thinking of popping down to Tenby this weekend to get some lovely aerial shots of the Ironman?
Yeah… don’t. 😂
Tenby is basically getting a big 2 nautical mile “NO DRONES PLEASE” bubble for the WEEKEND. 🚫🚁
The temporary restriction kicks in from 5am UTC Saturday 12th September until 1am UTC Monday 14th September, covering Tenby and quite a chunk around it.
So unless you fall under one of the official exceptions in the briefing sheet, leave the drone in the bag and enjoy the Ironman from ground level. 😂
Just thought I'd give my fellow drone addicts a heads-up before anyone makes the journey and gets an unpleasant surprise!
Share with anyone you know who might be planning to fly down there this weekend. 👍

I think I needed to read this today… ❤️
After my post earlier about everything that's been going on with my page, I received this comment from Julie.
I'll admit it — this brought a tear to my eye.
I go out with my camera or drone because I enjoy it. I capture places I love, edit the pictures and videos, put them on Facebook and hope you guys enjoy seeing them.
But I've never really stopped to think that one of those pictures might actually mean something much more to somebody looking at it.
Reading Julie's comment really hit me.
I genuinely had no idea that something I'd created could have that sort of impact on somebody.
We get caught up in numbers on social media — followers, likes, comments and millions of views. And lately I've been caught up in fighting to save a page I've spent years building.
Today reminded me that there are some things you simply can't measure with numbers.
Julie, thank you for letting me share this, and more importantly, thank you for telling me what my photography meant to you. I'm so pleased to hear that you're in a much happier place now. ❤️
And to everyone who left such lovely messages on my earlier post — I've been completely overwhelmed by the response.
Perhaps SM Droneography means a little more to some of you than I ever realised. 🥹❤️
Maybe that's the best reason yet to keep going.
