I have been in love with photography ever since I was a kid and when I became a mother a few years ago it gave me the opportunity to turn that passion into work while still having the flexibility for a busy family life.I was introduced to wedding photography by my long-time friend and when we started working together, I instantly found passion in it. Becoming a wedding and family photographer was
not where I thought my journey would lead me when nearly 15 years ago, I moved to London from Slovakia, where I worked as a journalist, but I soon realised that I could use all my experiences from working in the media to my advantage and incorporate them in my style and approach when working with couples and families. I like documentary style images that tell the story of the day and capture the unexpected moments and details that you wouldn’t usually notice or remember. I like to stay in the background as much as possible and only limit the posing for the official family, group and couple portraits and I like to keep these relaxed and not too staged as well. The most important thing for me is to capture the essence and atmosphere of the day, so that when you look at the photos from your wedding you get instantly transported back into those special moments. I love being a part of someone else’s happy day and enjoy capturing all the precious moments they share together and with their loved ones on their special day. I always like to meet with the couple before the wedding day where we can talk about the kind of images they like, discuss how they feel about being photographed and what their expectations are so we can find the balance a feel comfortable working together. When it comes to working with kids and families, my approach is very similar. Having a 7-year old myself, I know that the most important thing is for the kids to have fun and enjoy themselves and for the families to feel comfortable and relaxed. The most important thing is to make the families feel at ease when being photographed and even forgetting that there is a camera. For me, the best images are always the ones that snap the true essence of the moment.
