May has quietly been National Salad 🥗 Month…

Not just bowls of leaves and colour, but the beginning of lighter evenings, garden herbs, tables outside, wild life, strawberries arriving, fresh mint, edible flowers and food that somehow tastes better in warm air.

The kind of food made slowly, shared casually and eaten outdoors while the light fades.

Perhaps that’s what May really tastes like.

A season changing.

The last day of National BBQ Week.
The last of the sunshine (for now).
The last day of half term.

So many endings gathered into one day..

But endings have a way of quietly becoming beginnings.

The rain may arrive for a little while, yet the gardens are waiting it… the plants are needing it… and perhaps we do too.
