Indigo Cow, new location in Orange County 💙🐄🍦

So happy there’s finally a location in Costa Mesa, now I don’t have to venture out to LA or deal with the traffic or parking.

What I ordered:
🍦 Regular Hokkaido Milk in a cup + M.B.R (Mochi + Brown Sugar Syrup + Roasted soybean powder)

The Hokkaido Milk soft serve was so creamy and soft and didn’t melt too quickly. You have to add at least the mochi, trust me! Some of the best mochi I’ve had as a topping with an exquisite chewiness. But the M.B.R was a nice addition that complemented the soft serve and didn’t overpower the flavor.

Have you had Taiwanese sizzling steak before? 🥩♨️

In the 1970s in Taiwan, Western cuisine was considered a luxury that was difficult for the average person to afford, especially Western steak. So a chef named Sun D**g Bao (孫東寶) created the iconic Taiwanese sizzling steak/iron-plate steak/night market steak to make it accessible to the common person.

The Taiwanese sizzling steak is served on a hot iron-plate which is traditionally served with noodles, vegetables, a freshly cracked egg and your choice between a black pepper or mushroom sauce. The sauces have a more Asian influence in flavor. In addition, Taiwanese steaks usually also come with corn soup and garlic bread.

My Home Steak 我家牛排 offers different cuts of steak and meats. Your main entree also comes with buffet-style salad bar, side dishes, dessert, fruit, drinks and more.

Time for a coffee break at Louisa Coffee ☕️路易莎咖啡 Louisa Coffee

Louisa Coffee is a Taiwanese coffeehouse chain that is one of my go-tos for decent, affordable coffee. The brand is named after the Italian goddess Louisa. Louisa Coffee independently roasts all of its own coffee beans. They have more locations than Starbucks in Taiwan, and in my opinion tastes better too. They also offer breakfast foods, sandwiches and small bites. Vibes will vary depending on location, but I liked this store in Dazhi Village.

My default order is:
🥥 Coconut Americano 生椰美式

The Coconut Americano is very refreshing and the coconut water helps balance the acidity of the coffee, but the coffee flavor still stands out.

I recently found out that Louisa Coffee has made it to America and has opened a location in West Hollywood, California.

Ricco Gelato 🍨 in Ladera Ranch .us

Gelato is always a good idea, especially if it’s made fresh in-store every day. Ricco Gelato recently opened December 2025 at the Mercantile West Plaza in Ladera Ranch. They use the finest ingredients with organic, hormone-free milk.

Their flavors celebrate and are inspired by global tastes (they even had a durian flavor). The sorbets are made fresh with seasonal fruit and no dairy.

They offer free samples so you can pick the flavor you really like. Flavors are also rotated on a regular basis.

In addition to their gelato, they are also known for their affogatos, which I need to try next time.

Here’s what I ordered:
🍨 Piccolo Cup - 🤎 Toffee Inglese al B***o Nocciola (Brown Butter English Toffee) + Piedmont Peppermint (Italian Heritage Mint)

The flavors were bold and creamy, and quite a variety to select from.

Mixue Irvine now open! 🍦⛄️👑 .us

The weather is starting to warm up and I was looking for a refreshing sweet treat, so I was curious to try the new Mixue location.

There’s wasn’t a line on a Monday afternoon and you can order at the counter or use a kiosk machine. Orders were being expedited pretty quickly and didn’t seem to be backed up at all for drinks or soft serve.

Here’s what we ordered:
🧋 Jasmine Float
🥭 Super Mango Sundae

One of the main drawing points is the price. Both the soft serve and the drinks are much more affordable compared to other drink and dessert shops.

Granted the store just opened, but the serving size, flavor and presentation were a bit lacking. The dollop of soft serve in the float was disappointing in portion size. The jasmine tea itself had floral notes, but the soft serve didn’t enhance the flavor of the tea or float experience. The Super Mango Sundae just used mango syrup, but no real mango chunks were added. The mango syrup was very generous and not overly sweet, but the soft serve in the sundae was hollow in the center and not filled to the top like the menu photo. The soft serve was an icier consistency rather than creamy.

I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to eat this, but the price makes for a decent treat. You can try for yourself for your own assessment.

“Friendtastic!” Parade at 🎉

This is Hong Kong Disneyland’s largest-ever parade that debuted for the 20th Anniversary celebration. It has over 100 performers, more more than 30 Disney friends and 11 floats (the Encanto float was missing when I saw the parade).

Duffy and Friends make their debut with their first-ever own parade float in park history.

The opening and closing floats feature the city’s iconic Bauhinia flower.
