Built in 1917 by German prisoners-of-war, Duxford Airfield became one of the earliest RAF stations established and home to the Royal Flying Corps. Unlike many RAF bases which closed down following the First World War, Duxford remained open and was used as a training school and later a fighter station in 1924. The history is vast for Duxford and I highly recommend reading up on it. its very interesting. Ive never been to Duxford and since I am very interested in aviation and war history i thought it was about time I went. There is also a section of the Berlin Wall which I photographed.

We went to the Zoo......Again
we are big animal lovers and its nice to be able to visit a different zoo every now and then. most of the enclosures are being thick glass panels so unfortunately some of the photos came out too hazy to post. the zoo is very well stocked with some lovely breeds, some that I've never seen. go check it out, big carpark and reasonable priced tickets

Another beautiful hot day in middle England (there about) off to the zoo we went.
part of the ZSL group whipdsnade have some wonderful specimens, from the mighty African lion to the agile ring tailed lemur. pop along and support this great cause

We used to own parrots so it was a great idea to go and play with our feathered friends. Tropical Birdland is a park set in the wonderful village of Desford, its home to many different species of avian and exotic birds from the humbled kookaburra to the rare and beautiful hyacinth macaw

went to Leeds Castle for the afternoon yesterday. haven't been therefor many years, its still a fantastic destination for all the family to enjoy and despite being called Leeds Castle its in Kent not Leeds

Went to the new pub and microbrewery on 12th street just for a quick beer. It’s called Brewhouse & Kitchen, I was completely blown away when I walked in, it’s really my kind of place, welcoming, warm and full of brass and other metals. They’ve made lights out of old washing machine drums. I love it........
Must go back for food soon
