Every 3 days, I’m revealing another creature from Monsters of the British Realms.
Some fear fire, some fear iron… but Monster Eight fears only one thing, and you’ve just seen the hint.

Working on my cover concept for MONSTERS OF THE BRITISH REALMS — these are just early Adobe mock‑ups so far, with help from a cover mock‑up tool.

I’m getting into the Celtic detailing and the proper field‑journal vibe now, which really changes everything once you see the front cover come together, honestly… now it’s onto building the interior.

Expect fun, immersive creature pages — full colour tones, fun icons, and little details — everything to make you feel like you’re about to come face‑to‑face with the creatures straight from the book. 📗👹

Hi everyone!

Feeling properly excited and arty today — had a nice reset over the weekend and actually remembered not to tire myself out, so I’m starting this week feeling productive and ready to dive back into the book and work.

I’m buzzing to get all the creature sketches down too this week— just subtle outlines so they’re all in place before I commit to colour (still avoiding that part because once you add colour… that’s it, no going back 😂). My brain also keeps trying to jump ahead like “ooh I could do this or that in the future”, but I’m keeping myself focused on the present page; you never know, I may have thought of some good things to fully do later down the line. 🧚👽👸

The thing living rent‑free in my head today is probably my first sketch I'll attempt too, which is my book's ghost 🏰👻 — a legend from around where I live which has always sort of intrigued me even more after I found a link rly early on in my family tree to the family it's based on + randomly another book monster too, a set of spectral hands 🤲👻 in British folklore, which are going to be… interesting to attempt tbh.

Anyway, here’s what’s coming this week:

- Creature sketches
- A fun art drop on Thursday
- Location card on Friday
- Book Quote cards on Wednesday & Saturday at 6 pm

Just been to Durham Women FC vs Southampton for the first match of the season — it was a hard one tbh, but full of fight from the whole Durham squad. There’s always the next match, and I’m backing them all the way as the season gets going.

Every 3 days, I’m unveiling another creature from Monsters of the British Realms.
Some lurk in the dark, some leap across rooftops… and Monster Seven brings a whole new kind of trouble. Was it human or was it something else, who knows?

It’s Friday — and I haven’t done one of these in weeks — but we’re back with another little location, and now my 11th; you can drop into your games. I try to do one every Friday… unless I get distracted.

This week: an old chapel on the moor, an abandoned vicarage, and a very odd caretaker who insists his dog is still with him. 🌫️🐕‍🦺

Would love to know what you think — if you’d like these expanded into A4 versions, with more locations, or in different genres — horror, cosy fantasy, sci‑fi, mystery, folklore, anything at all — I’m always happy to make more and expand the range, tbh.

🎉 Big News from Monsters of the British Realms! 🎉

After weeks of discovering, writing, coffee‑drinking and lore‑crafting… my first draft is DONE!

That’s 44 pages of monsters, myths, mischief and magic, all wrapped up in a pocket‑sized A5 guide you can take anywhere.
It’s packed with 10+ creatures, complete with artwork, stats, lore and that slightly creepy, but out there vibe I grew up loving in media — think 2000s Doctor Who with a splash of Goosebumps books and Horrible Histories, with some of the interesting facts I’ve learnt too.
