👑If the King tells you that “you do an excellent curtsy” then you’ve got to jump to it! Back in 2003, I was hugely honoured to receive an MBE from HRH Prince Charles (as he was back then!) for ‘services to young people’ and the charity work I did through the Millennium Volunteers initiative. That experience really spurred me on to keep giving back throughout my career, from providing media training sessions for brilliant young people as an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust to hosting all kinds of fundraising events for amazing charities over the last 35 years. 🎤One of the most rewarding parts of sharing my TV presenting experience has been helping to develop raw talent and watching careers soar, like ITV’s BBC’s and and Times Radio’s who have all really hit their stride now as broadcasters 💫. I also now love to contribute at Career Fairs and run presenter skills workshops for school leavers as well as volunteer at every Saturday morning, setting out our local course before trying to smash my own PB! 🏃♀️
Giving your time, encouragement and experience to other people never feels wasted - it’s a total privilege. And it all started with that most excellent of curtsies! 😉
