The PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles is one of Scotland’s premier championship venues. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, who called it “the finest parcel of land in the world I’ve been given to work with,” the course combines dramatic Perthshire scenery with a demanding test of golf. Host of the 2014 Ryder Cup and the 2019 Solheim Cup, this par-72 layout features sweeping elevation changes, expansive fairways, strategic bunkering and spectacular views of the Ochil Hills. A true modern classic where power and precision are equally rewarded.

William Auchterlonie and his son Laurie Auchterlonie were prominent figures in the golfing history of St Andrews. Willie won The Open Championship in 1893 and became one of Scotland’s most respected golfers and clubmakers. His son Laurie followed in his footsteps, taking over the family business and serving as the Honorary Professional to the R&A for many years. Together, they helped preserve and promote St Andrews’ rich golfing heritage, making the Auchterlonie name synonymous with the traditions of the game.

Bright and breezy at Dunbar Golf Club. Filming a group of ladies from Illinois taking on the Scottish wind.

Founded in 1856 in the seaside town of Dunbar, Dunbar Golf Club is one of Scotland’s oldest and most characterful links. Golf was first played here over the old Deer Park, before the course evolved along its dramatic stretch of North Sea coastline.

In the late 19th century, the legendary Old Tom Morris refined the layout, setting the foundations for the classic out-and-back links we recognise today. Later tweaks by architects like James Braid helped shape the challenge while preserving the natural rhythm of the land.

What makes Dunbar special is its raw setting: holes perched beside rocky shorelines, ever-present sea winds, and views across to the Bass Rock. The course has long been admired for demanding thoughtful, traditional links golf rather than brute force.

More than 165 years on, Dunbar remains a true test and a warm, welcoming club — proudly blending history, scenery, and the timeless spirit of Scottish links golf.

Another day on the links.

The Western Gailes Golf Club logo features a modified crest from the Portland coat of arms, honoring the 6th Duke of Portland, who sold the land to the club in 1920. It signifies the club’s deep history, strong tradition, and close ties to the land's heritage, as the 6th and 7th Dukes were Honorary Presidents.

Marking the spot where Jean van de Velde famously ended up in the Barry Burn on the 18th hole at Carnoustie Golf Links during the final round of the 1999 Open Championship. Leading by three shots, his third shot landed in the water hazard fronting the green, leading to a infamous triple-bogey 7. Scotland's Paul Lawrie would go on to lift the Claret Jug after a play-off.
