A year ago I spent the day with good people as their wedding photographer. I came out of wedding retirement for two weddings last year, before returning to my usual, not offering / accepting them.

This was the first of the two.

Happy Anniversary folks 🙌❤️

Frogs Underground (2012).

Shot at an abandoned factory near Pumpherston, West Lothian. There were these slabs of concrete which had little gaps running between them. Out of curiosity, I decided to point my camera down through the cracks and adjusted my settings so the camera could record what I couldn’t see.

Down there were three frogs, resting next to some metal wheels. That’s the beauty of cameras, they can enable us to see things we can’t using our eyes.

A Luss Rooftop (2013).

Sometimes we think we have things lined up perfectly. Then something or someone comes along and disrupts that, but in the best way possible. Like this wee bird.

I was too busy composing the shot, trying to get some texture from the tiles and good exposure settings…essentially taking a “nice” shot. But if I’m honest, the shot didn’t mean anything yet.

Then, this wee bird flew in, as if to remind me “why am I shooting?”. Am I chasing perfection or meaning?

Some friends are like this too. Cherish them, we don’t know how long any of us have, so let’s make it count eh?

Hi folks, I have set up a brand new account with Buy Me A Coffee. These days the majority of my rugby photography is done on a voluntary basis, yet there is a real cost associated with getting to and from games and with maintaining my equipment.

Whether you play for any of the teams I have photographed over the years, you like my work or you just want to help, any support you can offer will be greatly appreciated 🙏

Scottish Photographer Ronnie McInnes. I photograph sports, especially rugby as well as places, people and things. I particularly enjoy having a narrative or exploring the creative side of photography.

Two of our three kids here, walking along a small path at Flotterstone in the Pentlands.

Shot back in 2019, it’s one of my favourites, partly because it’s my family here and partly because of the love heart-shaped puddle.

The last batch of shots from Saturday's Orkney v Leith Rugby (and Penicuik Women's Rugby) match.

That will also conclude my rugby shots for this season. More rugby shots to come next season.

One more batch to go, but I'll likely get those all sorted by late tonight or tomorrow evening. So look out for that final batch tomorrow folks.
