From bump, to newborn, to this gorgeous little face.

I first photographed this beautiful boy before he was even born, at his mum’s maternity session. Then he came back to see me as a tiny newborn, and on Saturday morning he was back again for his older baby session.

His mum and dad chose my Milestone Memories option, booking maternity, newborn and older baby sessions together and paying the session fees for just two of them. It’s a lovely way to capture three very different stages, from bump through to a sitting, smiling little person with tons of personality.

And now he’s sitting up, full of expression and personality, with possibly the best head of hair in Warwickshire. Can we please take a moment to appreciate those gorgeous locks!

Can you trust what you see in a newborn photographer’s portfolio? 👀

Newborn photography has always involved a little behind-the-scenes magic. Supporting hands can be edited out, several safely photographed images can become one, and a finished portrait doesn’t necessarily show you what was happening in front of the camera.

But AI has changed things again.

Today, an incredibly convincing “newborn photograph” might not contain a photograph - or even a real baby - at all.

My latest blog looks at how parents can choose a safe newborn photographer when what you see online doesn’t always tell the whole story.

I’m sharing real behind-the-scenes images from my own sessions, showing how I use spotters and composites to keep babies safe, why some popular newborn poses should never be attempted as they appear - and there’s a little real baby vs AI baby challenge too.

There’s something very special about being able to see just how tiny they once were.

Those little feet, those curled-up fingers, and four very familiar hands holding them safely between them.

These are the photographs that become more precious as the years pass - because one day it’s almost impossible to remember that your baby really did fit into your hands like this.

My newborn photography sessions are relaxed and completely baby-led, with plenty of time for those simple, timeless images alongside all the lovely sleepy newborn portraits.

Newborn sessions take place at my studio in Fillongley, Warwickshire, within easy reach of Coventry, Solihull, Warwick, Kenilworth and Leamington Spa.

I currently have limited availability for October due dates, some availability during November, and very limited availability for December due dates.

Tiny details, sleepy snuggles and the most beautiful little head of hair

I absolutely love these soft, simple newborn portraits - keeping the focus exactly where it belongs, on your gorgeous new baby. And this beautiful green was just perfect for this little one.

Newborn photography sessions take place in my cosy studio in Fillongley, Warwickshire, welcoming families from Coventry, Solihull, Warwick, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa and the surrounding areas.

Cake smash sessions aren't just about the cake - although obviously cake is a fairly important part of proceedings. They're about capturing all those expressions, giggles and little bits of personality that have appeared during that incredible first year.

Sometimes you just need a tiny lion to cuddle while you sleep.

This little chap is one of the many props I have here at the studio, and apparently he makes a rather excellent newborn-sized cuddle buddy.

I love this stage when they're still small enough to curl up all snug and sleepy like this - although that fabulous head of hair is already making quite a statement of its own!
