A glimpse of the partial eclipse of the Sun visible from between the clouds in Glasgow.
There's never much point here in getting overly excited about any spectacles in the sky... But it was worth a try.

I stumbled upon the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony fireworks scene on my regular evening bike ride.
I'm not a fan of fireworks to say the least. The display itself looked really good (it makes a difference when you leave it to the pros!) but the noise and smell could honestly stay in the previous century forever.
On a technical note, the wee pocket camera did a great job.

I hope that's the last I've seen of fireworks for a long, long time 😅

It was my day off but it's not like I'd pass up the opportunity to capture something nice on camera.

The final result of a few consecutive wrong turns on yesterday's trip to Inverclyde.
Taken somewhere by Loch-where-the-hell-am-I that was supposed to be Greenock Cut area but definitely was not 😅
Getting a bit lost has its charm too and the low winter sun looked great.

South Anderston is rapidly changing, adding cyberpunk-style dystopia to the existing post-industrial decay.
I don't mean the tall buildings - I don't mind them that much.
It's just that the authorities did not even show up when it came to the regeneration of the area and now all we have is a race to get the highest possible quick return on investment for commercial developers.
That, and obviously the world-(in)famous inner city M8 motorway joining with the city-centre end of the Clyde Expressway. The kind of infrastructure that's normally built on the outskirts but we have in right in the middle of the city.
Meanwhile, there are 36,000 people on the housing waiting list in Glasgow alone and it's difficult to see any evidence in our area of the NPF4 national planning policy being implemented (it says every new build in the city should include a minimum of 25% 'affordable housing').

Some photos of the counter-protest against the far-right in Glasgow today.
There were many, many more of us than them - which has always been the case whenever I made it to counter-protests like this one over the last 15+ years.
Scotland, and Glasgow in particular, is too smart to fall for their hateful message.

If anyone's confused - the small group waving Union Jacks on the Buchanan Steps are the far-right. They've been trying hard to hijack the Scottish flag recently but hopefully it will never work. The saltire it's been a symbol of tolerance and inclusion for a long time and hopefully it will always remain to be exactly that.
