There's a town in Scotland home to roaring waterfalls, an epic mountain and stands right where the Scottish Lowlands become the Scottish Highlands.

Welcome to the wee town of callander, located on the River Teith just west of Stirling.

To the north east of the town you can take a walk to discover Bracklinn Falls, a series of waterfalls on the Keltie Water, where the river crosses The Highland Boundary Fault.

Callander itself acts as a base for hillwalkers and explorers of the Scottish Highlands and sits at the foot of Ben Ledi, an 878 metre Corbett in the Trossachs National Park meaning, 'Hill of The Slope' in Scottish Gaelic.

And if you hike all the way to the summit, you can witness the dramatic change in terrain from the flat lowlands in the south to the rocky, mountainess, Scottish Highlands in the north.

Truly, a wee taste of Scotland.

And once you're done taking in the views, you can return to Callander and watch the sun go down over the town.

Just one example of the many beautiful towns in Scotland and please follow DHShields for more.

Cheers!

If an old teddy bear could talk, what would he say? Would he tell you that he's feeling old?
That his eyesight isn't what it used to be, that his hair's all matted and coming apart at the seams and that he just doesn't feel like the bear he used to be.

Or would he tell you that he remembers?

That he remembers the way things used to be. Before growing up, responsibility and the stresses of life.Back to when it was just you and him in an endless world of pure imagination.

But maybe he wouldn't say anything. And if you stared into his scratched but kind eyes, he would just look back at you, the way he always has. And as the years go by, even an old teddy bear can remind you to slow down, appreciate life and remember a simpler time.

A time of where anything seemed possible, with your best friend in the whole world.

If your old teddy bear could talk, what would he say?

Walking photography in Scotland? ♥️ Follow for more

Going for a walk is so much fun, but you can make walking even more fun by combining it with a wee bit of photography!

Every so often I take out my trusty Lumix GM1, a 13 year old camera that I've owned for 11 years. Truly one of my pride and joys :)

This camera, coupled with an Olympus prime lens, fits snugly into my back pocket and I'm still amazed at the quality! Every image just has such character and is so pleasing to my eye.

Using a more traditional camera really is such a satisfying process. Fully manual controls really connects you to your environment, makes you more intentional and ultimately makes going for a walk that bit more enjoyable 😊

I hope this helps someone out there and please follow for more.

Some days in Scotland are rainy and sunny, both at the same time.

But sometimes if you stop to look around, you might just discover a wee moment of beauty.

A moment just for you, almost like nature's showing off and saying: "Hey, look at me."

And maybe that's not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Just looking for little moments of beauty :)

Exploring the borders of Scotland ♥️ Please follow for more

The wee town of Peebles is situated in the Scottish borders and we had the true pleasure of exploring this beautiful and picturesque former burgh on a beautiful spring day.

Peebles, with a population of around 10k, offers stunning views over the River Tweed as well as featuring fantastic walks, quaint wee streets, compelling history and many hidden gems to discover. Also...Alpacas!

Scotland really does continue to inspire me with it's beauty and please follow for more inspirational content ♥️

Everything is going to be okay :) Please follow for more ♥️

As humans, it's so easy to get consumed by fear, uncertainty and badness and there's certainly so much of that to go around in the world these days.

But it's okay to be a wee bit blindly optimistic! To believe that, even just sometimes, things will okay. And they will!

Going out for daily walks helps me to switch off, take a breath and steady myself in an uncertain world. I would highly recommend anyone who is able to go out for a wee walk.

I hope this helps someone out there and please follow for more.

Cheers!

Time travel in Scotland? Please follow for more ♥️

Welcome to Culross. A perfectly preserved 17th century former burgh. Located in the Kingdom of Fife on the east coast of Scotland.

Featuring an old pier, cobbled streets, hidden lanes and Culross Palace, once home to the head of the village and a wealthy coal and salt merchant, Sir George Bruce of Carnock.

Walking up through the cobbled streets truly feels like you've travelled back in time and after passing through a famous cross which features in the TV show Outlander, you can head up the hill to discover Culross Abbey, a neo gothic church first founded in the year 1217.

Culross's history dates back even further to the 6th century, being the birthplace of Saint Mungo, the patron saint and founder of the city of Glasgow.

A beautifully preserved quaint wee Scottish village and please follow DHShields for more.

What is the best city in Scotland?

Join me for an epic walk on my DHShields YouTube channel as I walk between 7 of the largest parks in the Scottish city of Glasgow, including the highest and most epic view of the entire city up at the Cathkin Braes.

This is a walk known as the Magnificent 11, an 11 mile walk passing through beautiful waterfalls, hidden gems, compelling history, spectacular views and ultimately shows what I love most about walking in the city of Glasgow.

This video is for anyone with a love for Scotland, and I invite you to come along with me on this varied and exciting walk through urban and rural landscapes. Including a pretty treacherous final stage in some cold dark woods.

The infamous Scottish rain! Please follow for more ♥️

For those of you who don't know, Scotland's definitely no stranger to rain and as a Scottish person I'm definitely prone to talking about the rain and talking about the weather generally. But as the great Glasgow born Scottish comedian Billy Connolly once said: "There's so such thing as poor weather, just the wrong clothing."

But what can you do? You just have to get on with it. With my trusty rain jacket, rain cover and umbrella in my back pocket I always try to enjoy it as best as I can. I am sorry about this rant about the Scottish weather though, but it is what we do best :)

Cheers everyone and stay dry out there!
