Some red kites from a few weeks ago at Argaty Red Kites with a friend spending time playing with cameras in a different sort of set up. Really amazing job that has been done increasing the numbers of these birds across the UK.

A great viewpoint for an unusual angle on glen etive and out across the west coast.
Another Munro off the list.

So apparently today is world photography day! I feel it would be remiss of me not to acknowledge that fact, all things considered.
So here is a selection of some of my favourite photos from my hard drive. From historic buildings, to African wildlife, to Scottish mountains, life behind the lens is a great place to be.
Continue to feel lucky of all the things I get to experience.

Something always draws me to long exposure shots of water - I do not know why.

Apparently summer will be coming to an end soon - and it has been a strange one in Scotland. Massive heat interspersed with rain so heavy it has been causing dams to need emergency releases of water. It seems these days we never quite know what we are going to get (and yes I know that’s the joke for Scottish weather but it’s been even more odd than usual this year).

So high water levels (there’s a drought in England right?!) might have meant no racing could occur but that didn’t stop Scottish paddling turning up for a few runs on the Garry.

Garry Boater-X will be back next year no doubt.

However it did mean I managed to get on the water for once, but I couldn’t resist getting some shots after I’d finished some laps.

Despite some nice rock at times, the bashing through the ferns, steep soft heather and a rather sketchy finish means I’m not likely to be going this way up Ben A’an again. But fun day on the crags of Ben A’an with Lindsay Wright .wllm and

A hazy and VERY warm day on Bidean nam Bian on Friday. The forecast didn’t cover just how hot the weather got and with the light winds I was definitely approaching heat exhaustion walking out from the lost valley at the end. But worth it for some awesome views.
