The Faceless Figure of the A47 Acle Straight
A disturbing roadside encounter reported in 2002 has become associated with the A47 near Acle in Norfolk, on the stretch commonly known as the Acle Straight.
According to the account, a mysterious human-like figure was seen standing at the side of the road.
What made the sighting particularly unsettling was the figure’s appearance. It was reportedly dressed in green, but the witness could see no identifiable face.
The strange figure is not the only unexplained experience said to have occurred along this stretch of road.
Other motorists have reportedly encountered a figure appearing so suddenly in their path that they have been forced to brake sharply to avoid hitting it. Yet instead of finding an injured pedestrian or seeing somebody continue across the road, drivers have claimed that the figure simply vanishes without explanation.
