A local event?
Charity fundraiser?
Live music?
And it's on this Friday night?

Oh yes!!

So what's it's all about?

' Kingston Unlocked' is a mini fest organised by Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness ( KCAH ) to raise vital funds to help Kingston's homeless population.

KCAH provides immediate, professional support with nonjudgmental empathy and clear options, supporting people to secure and maintain a safe, stable home.

This fundraising gig has nine acts across two venues ( plus free entry to Bacchus )

There's indie rock and garage bands at The Fighting C***s, plus Acoustic acts at Old London Road Cafe.
All for ten pounds in advance or twelve pounds on the door.

So you get to support an awesome
charity and talented local musicians, whilst having a great night out not far from home.

My dog is scared and cowering inside now.
But I can literally feel the energy of the atmosphere and hear the thunder make it's way across the sky.

My annual Solstice Celebration shoot competition is currently open to applicants.

I really enjoy offering these.

This session was from Solstice evening two years ago, with Nafisa .
We had such a wonderful time 🌞

Last year, the winner was and we conducted our shoot along Richmond riverside and Petersham meadow.

I can't wait to see who enters this year's competition and where we will spend a magical Solstice evening, creating spectacular images together 🪄

**MISSING CAT**
This lovely cat ( Magic ) has been missing from Twickenham/Whitton area since last week.
He is micro chipped, neutered, up to date with his jabs and very friendly - but he's not keen on other cats!
Magic will be stressed, hungry and homesick by now ( He lives in Hanworth but was with family in Twickenham when he went missing )

The wedding meeting I had yesterday was even more heart warming than usual!

Yea,I'm a big softie/old romantic and ALL of the weddings I work become quite special to me.

But the couple I met yesterday were extra wonderful ❤️ ( btw, the featured image is from a wedding a couple of years ago )

The pair I met yesterday are in their 'golden years' ( 75+ ) and very much in love.
The bride to be ( we'll call her M for now ) was telling me that she got divorced thirty years ago.
She met her husband to be seven years ago and knew straight away that he was 'the one'!

And I believe he is 😉
He's a true gent - kind eyes, good humoured, gentle in nature and not afraid to show his emotions ( I got all of that from my forty minute meeting with them! )

I guess when you're that age, you know what's really important in life.

I am so, so happy for them both and absolutely cannot wait to be a part of their wedding in July.

I can't promise that I'll stay dry eyed for this one!

Don't wait until they're 'pushing up the daisies' to tell someone what they mean to you!

You can roll your eyes at the clichéd nature of this post, if you like.
But when you've finished doing that, I want you to take a moment to think about this.

So let's say that someone who you know, like and respect passes away.
Maybe you don't have a very deep talking relationship with them. But you do care about them.

So you go to their funeral and say a few warm words about them to their loved ones.
And you mean it with all your heart - except you never said that to them when they were around because that would have felt 'too wierd'.

Well how bloody stupid is that, hey?!

Why can't we just let people know how valuable they are to us, as an everyday thing?
Again, I think we're afraid of looking daft or seeming a bit odd.

But do you know what? Most folk don't form opinions like that about someone who is open, kind and wears their heart on their sleeve.
You wouldn't have got to have that much affection for them, if they did!

So please, don't keep wonderful thoughts and feelings to yourselves.
Tell the people you care about ( even fairly casually ) why you like them and enjoy being with them.

You never know when it might be too late.
