This time last week I was hosting a gorgoeus photography day at with . It was so so wonderful to make time for ourselves and our cameras, think about why we photograph, think about the technical bits we want to learn more about, be brave a do a portrait swap session and generally just had a lovely day - I came home smiling and full of joy.
Thank you so much to everyone who came along, we loved sharing the day with every one of you. And I am so looking forward to seeing some of your photos in the weeks and months to come! Here are a few I shot while I was introducing the portrait sesh in the maize field out the back of the farmhouse, three beautiful humans. 💛💛💛
We've got a couple of lined up for Autumn, dates dropping sooooon!

First day of school for my eldest child.

The first day of our new everyday routine. These are the moments I want to remember. Life is so fleeting, meaningful images are the ones I want to make.

BRAND SESSION Catherine has recently launched and I was so happy when she got in touch asking about a session. I met her when she used to worked in a bookshop in our town, and we bonded over our bookworm status and having small children. She shared one of the photos on her feed last night, and I thought her words summed up our time together perfectly - this feedback means so much to me as connecting with someone, telling their story and putting them at ease is exactly what I want to do. Photographing women who are self employed creative business owners is so inspiring and empowering, I love celebrating their hard work and dedication. I'll let her do the talking now...
"Yesterday I had the great pleasure of spending time with the very lovely and very talented doing my first ever brand shoot! 😱😀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was a big deal to me because I absolutely hate hate hate having my photo taken, always have! But it was important to me to do it because it's one of the first things I say to clients- show your face and get some professional photos taken! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I knew I was in fantastic hands with Alexa- you just have to look at her portfolio to see that! She's also a really lovely person, who is genuinely interested in people. It was such a relaxed vibe, she really made me feel at ease and it just felt like we were hanging out, rearranging the house, dusting (🙈😂) and the photo shoot was happening on the side!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was also so fantastic with my kids when they got rained out of a trip to the outdoor swimming pool! 'Can I take a photo?', 'Can I try?' 🙈😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Alexa really went above and beyond; this was not just a brand photo shoot, this was a brand storytelling photoshoot. Taking photos that will tell my story and bring out my personality. All the little details she picked up on...it was just amazing to see her at work!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've only seen 4 pics so far but I cannot wait to see the rest.
P.s. My husband says this is my 'What do you want? I'm on my phone’ face!!"

Thank you Catherine!!!! 😍😍😍 (and how gorgeous is her beautiful grey pet rabbit!!) @ Hitchin

What are you doing this afternoon? My husband (him on the left) is playing pool with his mate Jim (on the right) and they haved been since 7pm last night!!! They're doing a 24 hour pool marathon to raise money for a little boy named Seraph (He's 4, loves dinosaurs,Minecraft, giggling and his big bro Logan).
Seraph has high risk neuroblastoma , a childhood cancer with a low chance survival if a relapse occurs. He's just finishing a brave and gruelling 18 months of treatment and the NHS have given him all they've got. There's a trial in NYC that offers a vaccine with the hope of preventing relapse and Seraphs family are desperately hoping to raise £237,000 by June to take him to the US for this treatment.

Text Seraph10 to 70085 to donate £10. Or go to www.24hoursofpool.com to find their justgiving page. You can also find the live stream of the match there too!
I've never asked for donations on here before but I wanted to share this appeal with you today because it's close to my heart and so many people in my town are behind this cause- they're just over £100k with two months to go, I know they can do it! I would go to the ends of the earth for my children if I was in the same position and it's so wonderful to see such community behind them. And I'm so bloody proud of Daf for volunteering in this way - they're tired and achy and doing well. But this is nothing compared to Seraph and his family's journey and that's why Daf and Jim have undertaken the challenge. If you could share the cause that would be AMAZING, thank you SO much ###

Happy Birthday to my gorgeous friend Erica - She is 40 today! Yesterday morning we did a portrait session to celebrate the occasion and it was so lovely to lead her from feeling nervous about being photographed, to thinking about all she has achieved in her 40 years and becoming relaxed in front of the camera.
She was my first new friend when I moved to Hitchin and welcomed me with open arms (and wine glass) and has introduced me to many more local people. She is a huge inspiration to me and I credit a lot of the success of my business and photography career down to working with her on shoots for and also with her marketing advice etc. She gave me the confidence to go out there and just do it! We love to put the world to rights over breakfast while talking business, motherhood, friendship and travel (also I always have house style envy when we meet at hers!) She is a bit of a party queen (unlike me who lives for a cup of tea and an early night!) so I chose this photo of her to share from her mini portrait session - Erica is the only girl I know with a disco ball next to her toaster and I love her for it!!! Happy 40th Erica, you are amazing!

Come with me, my love, to the sea, the sea of love....take me back!!
It's the little things that I adore in Cornwall, shapes and lines and textures. The differences you find at high tide and low tide. How it all changes with a gust of wind or a slice of light.

There are no words for how this picture makes me feel - they were taken, not by me, but by my friend Rebecca Douglas Photography who was a guest teacher at To the Lighthouse, a photography retreat in St Ives I hosted this weekend (and she absolutely rocked it!) It was so wonderful to bring together 7 photographers, to share and learn and soak in the beauty and intrigue of St Ives and it's coastline; to make time and connect with ourselves and our photography work. I loved spending time with everyone - thank you to everyone who came, this has been a dream of mine and I will never forget this weekend!
