Not your standard Tuscany sunset shot - not that I know for certain what one of those might look like, but it might have an avenue of Tuscan Cypress trees leading to a stone villa, standing tall on a rounded hill top rather than a line of sentinel like wind turbines. Either way, Volterra was a great ancient town, perched on a hill top and the views across the Tuscan countryside were fabulous.

Languedoc Cobbles - Apparently, Napoleon ended the use of the fortified city for military purposes and it fell into such disrepair that the French Government ordered it to be demolished! Instead, an epic effort to restore it took place. I find it amazing how sites like this develop over thousands of years in some cases, ever changing as the generations develop and modify.

East Mebon - Temples of Angkor

I've wondered around and gazed upon all manner of interesting places, across several continents and I shy away when people ask for a favourite place! It's a bit like asking an adult their favourite colour. I like lots of things equally for different reasons. Alternatively, some things are not worth liking no matter how many other people seem to get excited about them. I don't know why people watch reality shows or soap operas, but what do I know! The point is, there is nowhere I've been that's quite like Angkor Wat. It's impossible to capture in one image since it's so sprawling and diverse. I would go back tomorrow even if I had to go on a reality show to do it! I will share more Angkor images in time.

Tall trees in the snow.

I liked the solitary, redundant fence post in this little clearing and the fallen tree further up the mountainside, both capped with the fresh fall of snow. The trees are fairly tall around here. This is steeper than the image portrays so the trees feel especially tall and towering when the light is low and it's silent all around except for water running in a stream.
