Serious or Smiley? 😜

In one moment, Olecka looks like he’s stepped straight out of the wild - those ears, that expression, that unmistakable wolf-like presence 😍🐺

And then… that smile 🤎

But perhaps that’s the magic of photographing our dogs. We get to capture all of them - the moments where they look strong and majestic, and the moments where their entire personality comes shining through.

Because they’re never just one thing…

They’re our beautiful, goofy, loyal, complicated, wonderful dogs. And those little glimpses of who they really are, are the memories I want you to keep forever 🩵

Not just lavender photography… Ohana lavender photography 💜

There are so many beautiful ways to photograph a dog amongst the lavender🪻

This just happens to be mine 🥹

Dreamy, atmospheric, soft and fine-art inspired - with the lavender becoming part of the portrait rather than simply a pretty backdrop 📸

These three 20-week-old Labradors were the perfect little models, and I absolutely adore how their portraits came together 🥰

So today, I’m celebrating the kind of photography I love most: creating artwork that feels like them - photographs that aren’t just a record of how they looked in the moment, but how it felt to be there with them, a piece of their story 💜

If you’re coming to me for a photoshoot, please stop shouting your dog’s name 😄

I promise I’m not being rude! But I see this all the time. Owners understandably want their dog to look at the camera, so they spend the entire session making noises, waving treats and saying their name.

But sometimes the best photographs happen when your dog isn’t looking at the camera.

I want the curious expression. The little head tilt. The moment they look off into the distance. The completely natural, ‘I’m just being me’ moments.

So let me worry about getting their attention. You just enjoy being in the moment with them 🥹

Your job? Enjoy your dog. My job? Capturing the perfect moment 🐾📸

It’s time for another FAQ Friday! ✨

Let’s talk about Image Reveal Sessions and why they’re such an important part of the Ohana experience 🐾📸

You might wonder why I don’t simply send you a gallery of your photographs and let you choose your favourites in your own time.
The answer is simple: I don’t want your photography experience to end when I press send.

Your Image Reveal Session is your opportunity to see your photographs properly presented for the very first time - and for me, one of the best parts of what I do is being there to see your reaction 🥹

The excitement.
The laughter.
The “oh my goodness, look at them!” moments.
Sometimes even a few happy tears 💙

It’s also a chance for us to look through your images together, talk about your favourites, answer any questions and explore how your photographs could work as a collection, whether that’s through digital images, wall art or one of my collections.

And importantly, there’s no pressure to make a decision before you’ve seen your photographs. You get to experience them first, then decide what you love.

For me, this is about making your photographs feel like more than files in a gallery.

It’s about creating an experience around them - because these photographs are of someone incredibly important to you 🐶💙

So yes, you can ask me why I don’t send a watermark gallery instead…

But hopefully now you understand why the Image Reveal Session is such an important part of the Ohana experience ✨

Wall Art Wednesday meets World Photography Day ✨📸

There are some photographs that are made to live on a phone screen… and then there are the ones that deserve to be printed

These beautiful 20-week-old Labradors were photographed amongst the lavender, and I couldn’t resist giving their portraits my own dreamy, fine-art twist. Soft light, hazy backgrounds and a little bit of purple magic - exactly how I love to photograph lavender 💜

Because when you invest in photographs of your dog, I don’t want you to simply have a picture of them…

I want you to have something you’d be proud to hang on your wall 🩵

And what better day to celebrate that than World Photography Day!
