The Knife

Her hands were shaking, she lifted the knife
It had to be done, had to end his life

He’d gone too far this time, hurt her too much
Mimicked a demon, completely lost touch

Hands staining red and she drove the blade in
His face contorted, never thought that she’d win

She let out a roar, blade plunged into his face
He gurgled and coughed, as they changed place

Now she was the attacker, no longer a victim
He lay there prone as she stabbed and she hit him

She took her power, she reclaimed her life
As he lay there bleeding, at the end of the knife

Its hard to be a person when the body that you're in

Has b***s and a va**na, thats where problems begin

So many expections are put on you when you're born

Bear some children, get married, how your clothes should be worn

You play with dolls and cant get dirty, mind your p's and q's

All so that as you grow up men can come and use

You

Never mind that you want fun, men want to cop a feel

Heaven forbid if you like girls, it'll make your parents reel

When a man over steps and harms you in some way

Its obviously your fault, whatever did you say?!

Older still you'll look around to find the sisterhood

Only to discover that man made that not good

Laughed at as you take your power, scolded for seeking joy

Dont ask for that pay rise, the promise was just a ploy

I hope for all our children that they are born male

Because being born a female their happiness will curtail.
