First frame off PATCH500T.

This is Alice Oseman, on film shot and developed by us here in the studio, and honestly it might be the best photo I’ve taken. Ever… or it felt like it.

Creating it start to finish on our own film feels pretty special.

This shot is the only one on our film, but from our shoot with Alice there are a lot more on digital and film (Portra 400) in the new issue of . Words by , photos by us.

(I did 6 test shots of Alice during her shoot on our PATCH500T and all 6 came out! she chose this one) I’m so glad she did 🫶

I’m finding photography is taking a back seat to video, especially on Instagram, it’s been that way for a while now (engagement/ attention spans) … it’s just video that we consume, I’m watching reels! Not looking at photos or photography books, I’m scrolling.

Don’t get me wrong we love making video too, but being able to do high end 35mm production, shoots, developing and scanning in house, for someone like Alice who means a lot to our audience and to us, is exactly why we started doing this. And for the photo to be published! So proud.

So let’s talk about Patch 500T. Kodak Vision3 500T, respooled and finished by us in the studio. Cinema stock, cinema colour, in our canister.

This is ECN-2, not C-41, and most labs won’t touch it. So if you do get your hands on some bring it back to us and we’ll develop it for you.
