During our visit in Istanbul. We explored the narrow cobblestone street of Balat on foot. One of the trendiest districts in Istanbul. I’ve found the architecture of the buildings fascinating especially the coloured houses (which Balat is famous for). I liked how relaxed the lifestyle of the locals that lived there. The neighborhood was once inhabited by a mixed population of Jews, Muslims, and Christians. That historical element is vividly reflected across the district till today. Nowadays, the area has attracted many artists and there is an increasing number of galleries, bohemian cafes, and restaurants.
