A mosque is a place of worship for followers of the Islamic faith. It is a central location where Muslims gather to pray, perform religious rituals, and study Islamic teachings. Mosques can vary in size and design, but they typically feature a prayer hall, a minaret (a tower from which the call to prayer is made), and a courtyard.
The prayer hall of a mosque is often oriented towards the Kaaba in Mecca, which is considered the holiest site in Islam. Muslims gather at the mosque for daily prayers, Friday prayers, and special occasions such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. In addition to prayer, mosques may also provide facilities for other community activities such as education, social events, and charitable work.
