I decided to start this blog in the beginning of 2014 when it suddenly hit me how time is flying by and we take things for granted. The purpose of this blog is to do something new every 52 weeks of the year, regardless of what it is. I created Catch 52 to record my activities and to motivate me to tick off my own bucket list, thereby hopefully inspire others to do the same.

Top things to do & eat in Mykonos 🇬🇷👇 Save list for later.

I really enjoyed visiting off-season in May. Everywhere is open but it doesn’t feel too busy 🤍. I got some much needed R&R with plenty of foodie spots discovered.

Here are my top spots:
* Stay at - super comfortable, spacious & comfortable apartments, centrally located.
* .mykonos at sunset 🌅
* for all day food and a good atmosphere - their hidden courtyard is always a vibe.
* pastry shop next to Soulmates - try their Baklava ice cream 🔥
* .gelateria for Mango Sorbet & Kinder Bueno Ice Cream
* for the ultimate pitstop with a view
* cafe for Freddo Cappuccino & Greek Pastries (spinach & feta, and custard)
* Tyco Cocktails - their spicy margaritas were 🔥
* for sunset on the water
* Soho Roc House
* Paralia Kalo Livadi beach
* Odos Araxame for lunch if you’re in Ano Mena

Mitsu London has just opened in Shoreditch, where East Tokyo meets East London 😍 and you feel that combo the moment you walk in. The space is stunning and so warm/inviting 🔥 just scroll and let the photos speak for themselves.

The food was incredible. There wasn’t a single thing on the menu we didn’t like 🥢.

We started with Shish*to peppers, Chicken karaage, Hamachi and Prawn tempura (the tempura was the standout starter, absolutely incredible with the dipping sauces).

From the raw section we tried Otoro sashimi (melt in the mouth, never disappoints), Otoro & hamachi nigiri & Salmon temaki.

From the meat section we tried Wagyu sando & Wagyu skewers - so buttery, both were delicious but I preferred how the skewers were thinly layered if I had to pick one. We also had Salmon skewers with chef’s rice (the rice was exceptional).

Dessert was a real highlight - Mitsu tiramisu (served tableside and very generously portioned) and Black sesame cheesecake (rich, nutty, almost tahini-like - a very interesting fusion)

Their drinks selection is also lovely. They work with KANPAI! brew and sip, UK’s first sake brewery outside Japan.

PS: they have a terrace, which feels like the perfect spot for their signature Japanese highball on tap in summer weather - insanely good value, light and easy to drink.

Highly recommend checking it out 👌🏻.

The perfect spot to watch day turn into night across London ✨.

We started the evening with drinks up on the 38th floor - there’s also a terrace upstairs with a retractable roof, which is amazing for those sunny London days.

After a couple of cocktails, we headed downstairs for a three-course dinner. Super cosy atmosphere with a seasonal British menu that’s done really nicely.

Such an easy place to settle in and let the evening flow from drinks into dinner without having to go anywhere else 🍸

A neighbourhood Mediterranean gem in the heart of Spitalfields ✨. Start at the bar with a cocktail and work through a mix of delicious sharing plates and mains.

Menu highlights:
- Sicilian red prawn carpaccio with leche de tigre
- Tuna sashimi with caviar
- Steak with peppercorn sauce, creamed spinach and mash

Indian fine dining in Chelsea ✨ .

Their menu is like a map of India. Regional specialties are highlighted throughout, with tandoori cooking at the core and a seafood selection that’s worth exploring.

What to order:
🦀 Crab Sukka - soft shell crab marinated in an Indian spice blend, served with spicy tomato chutney.
🍤 Koliwada Masala Prawns - Mumbai-style king prawns cooked with a koliwada inspired spice blend.
🦐 Prawn Makhani - King prawns cooked in the tandoor oven and marinated in a tomato sauce, seasoned with cumin and coriander.
🐟 Fish Amritsari - a North Indian fish fillet popular across India.
🍗 Chicken Jhalfarezi - tandoori chicken tikka in tomato gravy, stir fried with blistered peppers
🌿 Nilgiri Lamb - fragrant curry packed with fresh green herbs & lamb.

There’s a new bakery in town 🥐😍. Fred’s second spot is now open on Margaret Street, Oxford Circus - very Parisian chic ✨.

Expect fresh breads, sweet & savoury pastries, sandwiches and a lovely drinks menu. My highlights were the chocolate pain au suisse, raspberry vanilla pastry and the Sayuri matcha.

Such amazing quality - comforting but light, fresh, and delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful & cosy festive tea to enter into Christmas 🫖🎄✨

Mr Ma’s Afternoon Tea at , Bloomsbury is a hidden gem, not only for their tea but also to their secret courtyard.

Inspired by Mr Ma and Son by Lao She, the afternoon tea is traditional with an Asian twist, mixed with festive touches for the season 🎀.

Their gorgeous courtyard has been transformed into a winter lodge hideaway. Twinkling lights, seasonal decor and a warm atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to hide from the festive business.

Christmas at 🎄🇬🇷 Such a lovely, relaxed Greek feast in a stunning Mediterranean setting.

The five-course Christmas menu is amazing value at £60 per person, given the quality and quantity of the food. You WILL leave stuffed 🤤.

Between 2 people tried:
* Fresh bread basket with Smoked taramasalata & Spicy tirokafteri
* Bluefin tuna with tomatoes, capers & rock samphire
* Grilled sardines with coconut tzatziki, dill oil & wild fennel
* Hortopita with wild greens & feta
* Briam (baked aubergine, courgette, potato & tomato)
* Beef short rib with pearl onions, tomato & Christmas spices - literally falling off the bone 🍖
* Seabass fricassee with romaine lettuce, Greek herbs & avgolemono - so fresh and delicious
* Pumpkin custard tart with feta ice cream
* Christmas-style sticky toffee pudding

We honestly loved the whole meal. Comforting food done beautifully, catch the menu before it disappears ❤️🫶🏻

Weekend brunch at .london 🦪🍸.

Futuristic, industrial-chic vibes in the heart of Shoreditch with a sustainable seafood menu.

The oysters, red caviar toast, crudo trio & grilled monkfish were my favourites - so fresh and delicious. Let’s not forget the pavlova dessert as well.
