I’ve been photographing my beautiful friend ever since I decided to give photography a go as a career all those yeas ago. We sat next to eachother when we both worked at the Royal Court box office and when I was really struggling being an actor and toying with the idea of becoming a Photographer she was the one who told me to go for it and swayed me to pick helenmurraypix instead of helenmurraypics when setting up this instagram account. Ha! She always said yes when I needed to test for a job and was unsure what the hell I was doing and has forever been my biggest champion. Today is her Birthday so I’m sharing these from a test shoot we shot shot at the end of last year.

When I was younger I was absolutely obsessed with the wee Irish film Into The West and is probably the reason why me and my sisters learned how to horse ride. That white horse, iconic. So cut to many many years later being asked by my pal to photograph 45 Years with Gabriel Byrne, Geardine James and Gillian Bacar of course I said yes. This play has the most gorgeous performances and was absolutely heart breaking to watch behind the camera. One I won’t forget. Congrats all.
