This one feels personal. Not because I was on the sideline this time but because I’ve been there before, and I know exactly why it matters.

At uni, my final work was focused on women in sport and empowerment. I spent that time documenting rugby in England, learning what it means to really see women in these spaces, not just as athletes, but as strength, resilience, presence. I wrote about visibility, about how important it is for the next generation to grow up seeing this as normal, as valued, as supported.

Even though I didn’t shoot this game, being around it brought all of that back. That feeling doesn’t really leave you once you’ve had it.

There’s still so much more to be seen and backed. And I’m proud I ever got to stand behind that lens.

One day I’ll be back to it properly…women’s sport, where my work has always felt the most honest.
