Hello, I hope all the invert and macro lovers are doing well and have been out this year to get their first shots.. here is my first one of 2024, hope you like a Black-spotted Longhorn Beetle "Rhagium morrdax"
I'm also here to help promote my Just Giving page. Just under a year ago, I started working for Sussex Wildlife Trust at Rye Harbour and it's been an incredible year, so many amazing people, either working or volunteering. I wanted to do something to help raise money for the SWT so signed up to do a 100km on the 7th of September walking over 2 days along the south coast. I would be extremely grateful for your help supporting me by following the link on my page. Thank you, will keep you updated dated on the progress.

This beautiful Heliophaunus flavipes, sitting on a blade of grass staring straight back at me with those tiny but massive eyes in comparison to its body. One of the easiest recognisable jumping spiders with its bright golden front legs. This one is a male either proactively looking for its next meal which can be easily twice its size or looking for a female which has a stunning golden body, which I still have not seen.

A baby crow I found the other day. The best thing to do if you find a baby bird is leave it, it has probably just fledged and the parents are close by. I could hear one of the parents above making sure this little one was OK.

Here is a Bee Fly hovering and drinking nectar at the same time. They can easily ID with this behaviour as most bees will rest on a flower to feed. Hope you like it.

Flower Friday, sort of. Here is a nettle with a rather beautiful purple tinge to it. Might not be the most like plant on the planet, but it is vitally important to all the red butterfly species in the UK. They lay their eggs on them and then the catapilars will feed on those nettles.

Happy world Bee day everyone a day to celebrate one of the most fascinating and important species of this wonderful planet 🌍🐝. This adorable little one is an Ash Mining Bee "Andrena cineraria" They are about 10mm long and have in my opinion a marvouls white tash.

This specific one was crawling around Wild Garlic flowers and was struggling to fit through the pettles so gave me a chance to get the tash in all its glory. Will be bring you more of this guy soon 😉😉.
