What a dream to be the recipient of the 2024 Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland X Acme London Residency! 💖

Only now, as I'm settling into the first week of the residency, I'm realising, that I'm actually here.

I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to spend my time at the residency taking place from June to August 2024, allowing me to dive into the creative process.

Hoping to meet old & new & new-old friends and colleges in the city! ✨

I'm so happy to have my interactive artwork 'Babe, call me back' exhibited in this years edition of Mäntän kuvataideviikot / Mänttä Art Festival 'To Err is Human' curated by the kindest Anna Ruth alongside so many talented friends and colleagues.

You can experience Babe by having a written conversation, based on the sound of the modem dial-up with them at Mäntän kuvataideviikot / Mänttä Art Festival, the largest summer exhibition of Finnish contemporary art held between 13.6 - 31.8.2021.

Last year the exhibition got postponed until this summer, and before arriving to Mänttä Babe was supposed to participate in the exhibition 'Reciprocities' curated by Christine Langinauer at Vantaan taidemuseo Artsi. Unfortunately the exhibition never got to be displayed to the public. I'm therefore extra thrilled to have Babe exhibited at Mänttä for everyone heading that direction to experience the installation and the rest of the exhibition.

P. S I also highly recommend a swim in the lake when in Mänttä for the ultimate experience!

'Babe, call me back' have been realised together with programmer extraordinaire Benji Smith - generously supported by Föreningen Konstsamfundet and Taiteen edistämiskeskus - Taike.

A rainy autumn day in 2019, I had a conversation EDIT Media about my artistic practise and working as a artist-curator towards a more inclusive art field.

In the article one can also read about the exhibition 'How to Slow Rush' me and Ramina Habibollah curated together as the curatorial duo inaway, for FemF - the Feminist Forum held at Titanik.

The exhibition hosted performances by Esete Sutinen, artworks by Man Yau and Vidha Saumya, lecture-performances by Arvind Ramachandran and Boy konsthall
- dealing with time embodied in emotional and physical labour through instant and slow processes. ⏳✨🙏🏾💜

Våt ängsmark / Wetland (2020) is an interactive olfactory artwork, exploring the sense of smell, the strongest sense humans has connected to the memory.

During my residency at Art Lab Gnesta
I have together with the local swamp in Gnesta, created a sculpture with the scent of swamp made in soy wax. The audience are allowed to walk near the opening of the sculpture to smell the work.

The sculpture can be experienced in the exhibition 'Föreställningar om Naturen' until 2021 at Västerås konstmuseum. It is also the first exhibition I'm participating in at a Swedish art museum.

The residency at Art Lab Gnesta was held between the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020 in the project Plein-Air, that is a collaboration between Västerås konstmuseum and Art Lab Gnesta, made possible by Nordisk kulturkontakt.

In spring 2019 I had the honour to receive a culture prize from Svenska kulturfonden, which feels as amazing as it did back then!

The only way to receive the prize was to wear conscious clothes by Studio Minna Palmqvist, a big inspiration of mine.

Looking back at this time I still feel deeply touched and grateful.✨
