Here we are in Memorial Gardens, Pinner, braving the winter teperatures in February, and hoping for a bit of sunshine for our pre-wedding shoot.
We still have some availability for 2025 if you're looking for a photographer.

I would be interested to know if the younger generation like black and white images as much as my generation. When I started out as a photographer I shot with Ilford FP4 black and white film. I then made black and white prints in the school dark room. It all seemed so natural. Mind you I didn’t have an option - I couldn’t afford to shoot in colour. Are black and white images a thing of the past or do they still find a place on the walls or mantelpieces of today’s wedding couples?

Looking back on the pictures I posted in January I realised how different they all were. That got me thinking about why that would be, and I think that's due to four main things. The time of year, the weather, the location and the people. Winter days can be bright and crisp or, as this is England, usually grey and dull. Autumn leaves add colour, and really bright summer days give us dark shadows and people squinting - not the best look. The trick is to make the most of what you've got and keep looking for opportunities.
One picture from the January collection brought the memories flooding back. That's the black and white picture of Naomi and Emilio, looking out through the window of The Grange Country Houses in Middlesex. What are they looking at? Of course, torrential rain! Otherwise we would have been photographing in the gardens.
The people we work for have the biggest influence on or style of photography. Themed weddings can be fun, even if we don't necessarily think the ideas are great for wedding photographs. Some weddings are quite formal, other can be a bit crazy. So we learned to "go with the flow", make suggestions when its the right time and, above all, listen to what the people we are working for have to say. The most important thing in the end is that they love the photographs of their wedding day, especially as they know what we all went through to get them.

One photo from a different wedding every day this January. In this month's selection of photos I have deliberatly avoided the formal photos and instead focussed on the more casual side of weddding photography. However, on this last day, I have decided to finish off with one of my personal favourites. This is Alice and Cam at Micklefield Hall, nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside, just 25 miles from London.
