Director of Photography: Darius Shu.

A film’s cinematography is something that my attention is immediately drawn to, and it’s something that I’ve always been a geek about. So when it came to ***rParivaar, I knew that I needed someone who had a specific kind artistic vision and ability to translate written text on a script into gorgeously shot film frames. After an extensive search, I found Darius on Instagram. And today, I cannot imagine what I would have done without him, a self-proclaimed ‘visual poet’.

Darius knew exactly what I wanted for QP’s rich visual experience. Albeit ambitious, he was down for it all. No complaints. No questions. We knew that we were pushing our limits, but it was worth it.

It’s humbling to see an artist fully immerse themselves into a project with such integrity and heart. Darius adopted QP as his own baby and nurtured it with tender care and ferocious tenacity. He held my hand through every breakthrough and through every breakdown.

We were SO in sync on set that we managed to film over 550 frames in four days! Together, we’ve grown as artists and have shared huge mutual admiration for each other’s work. I’m so bloody grateful to have shared this experience with Darius who initially came on board as the film’s cinematographer, then became a producer for the film, and luckily, a life-long friend.

I cannot wait for you to see the visual magic Darius has created for the film.
