Cars in Cuba are passed with pride from generation to generation. Before La Revolución in 1959, Cuba was a sort of test track for major american car brands, releasing models here even before than in the U.S. However, the following embargo and lack of spare parts forced cubans to become master mechanics. And so they did: today it is estimated there are still around sixty-thousand cars from the 1930's, 40's and 50's in Cuba. Many have been repaired with russian or even chinese parts.
These cars give Cuba a unique and indistinguishable vintage look not found anywhere else in the world.
