It’s been a few years now since I painted this one 🤍 the other day I got to help my friends move into their new home and hang their painting. Since sharing this painting for the first time, many of you guys have shared testimonies with me of how God has spoken clear encouragement to you, friends, and family through this meaningful image.

All I can say is wow. It is an honor to partner with Jesus and see Him heal hearts, minds, and bodies through art. ❤️

I flipped back through some old journals today and found this recurring sketch of a church building with no roof. I’ve been repeating this sketch for years. When I arrived in London this summer, the Lord brought this image back to mind, connecting multiple themes and timely words.

There are so many elements of this painting I could mention by way of symbolism, but the main one is this. If a roof symbolizes the church’s grasp for safety and limiting expectations of who God is and how He will move, what would it look like if the church had no roof? What would it look like if we allowed him to take all those things and show us His limits? ✨

Here’s a prayer written next to one of these sketches in my journal from 2023. “Spirit teach us to value the foolish things that are wise. Teach us to live in mystery. Help us to lay down the things we know and lean into living relationship with you Jesus. He is our covering.”

Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.”

Started painting this one three years ago. This painting represents many many sacred moments and conversations with God. I’m so grateful for and the Muro family allowing me to capture the sweet scripture and moment in paint. ❤️
