As we head into another weekend, I keep thinking back to last Sunday’s lunch at The Dower House Hotel… 🤍 after we had such a wonderful stay there, I really wanted to go back and try the roast.

At £35 for three courses, everything from start to finish was absolutely excellent.

The meat was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were beautifully fresh and still had a lovely little bite to them, and those garlic roasties… honestly delightful. And the gravy? Rich, silky, and the kind you wish you could take home by the jugful 😍

Then came pudding… a warm chocolate brownie served with ice cream and a delicate brandy snap and wow. A real show stopper and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.

And as always, the staff were wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you.

If you’re looking for a Sunday lunch that feels just that little bit special, this one is definitely worth experiencing ✨

📍 The Kinema in the woods

A trip to Woodhall Spa just wouldn’t be the same without a visit to one of my absolute favourite places… The Kinema in the Woods 🎬✨

There’s something truly magical about this place. The soft glow of the lights, the vintage charm, and that unmistakable feeling of stepping back in time… it’s not just a cinema, it’s an experience.

And then there’s that car parked outside — like something straight out of another era 🚗

Whether you’re catching a film or simply soaking up the atmosphere, this is one of those Lincolnshire gems that never loses its charm… no matter how many times you visit.

I don’t even know where to begin with The Dower House Hotel… ✨

From the moment we arrived, everything about this place just felt special. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, and the staff? Warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely — nothing was ever too much trouble.

We started our stay with lunch in the sunshine on Saturday afternoon, and it was just perfect. I had the crayfish Caesar salad — so fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully done.

We stayed in The Lodge, just outside the main hotel, and I can completely see why it’s popular for wedding parties. The communal area is gorgeous, with incredible lighting and even wedding albums to flick through — such a thoughtful touch.

Our room was just… wow. A huge, incredibly comfortable bed, a beautiful bathroom with a deep tub and a great shower, and a cosy little seating area by the patio doors. Step outside and you’re met with pure tranquillity — birds singing, trees gently rustling, and even squirrels and rabbits playing on the green space. It felt like a proper escape.

Everything was spotless, and every detail had clearly been thought about.

Breakfast this morning was exactly what you’d hope for from a hotel like this. I had eggs Florentine — perfectly poached eggs, fresh asparagus, just delicious. Alongside that, there was a lovely selection of pastries, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices, and jams/marmalades on the table. Tea and coffee were freshly brewed, with attentive staff always nearby for a top-up.

Honestly, this was a truly wonderful stay from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend it enough, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit… 💫

Easy like Sunday morning at The Dower House Hotel… ☀️🌿

Patio doors open, a soft breeze drifting through, gently catching the curtains as sunlight filters through the trees. Birds singing, everything feeling calm, slow… just as it should be.

Sometimes it’s these quiet little moments that make a place feel truly special.

📍 The Maharaaj Metheringham

If you’re looking for something a little special in Lincolnshire, then Maharaaj absolutely needs to be on your list… 👀✨

I’d go as far as saying this is one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t do enough for us — friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, offering great advice on dishes and perfect pairings.

We started (of course!) with poppadoms and chutneys — because that’s basically the law, right?! 😄
Then I went for the Bangalore Jingha starter followed by the Railway Lamb… and wow. Both dishes were completely unique, beautifully presented, and tasted so fresh and full of flavour.

This isn’t your average Indian restaurant — it’s something a bit different, and definitely one for food lovers.

Safe to say… we’ll be back 👏

✨ Watch this space… ✨

I’ve recently come across something really lovely that I just had to share with you all 👀

A brand new holiday rental called The Nest is getting ready to open its doors right here in Louth…. and it’s looking absolutely beautiful already 🏡💫

From what I’ve seen so far, it’s going to be the perfect cosy escape – ideal for relaxing, recharging, and enjoying everything our gorgeous town and County has to offer.

It’s not quite ready just yet… but keep your eyes peeled on their page ✨

📍Farmer Brown’s Ice Cream

If you’re looking for the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon in Lincolnshire, look no further than Farmer Brown’s Ice Cream - a true gem and a firm family favourite of ours.

This wonderul destination is ideal for families, featuring a wonderful play area complete with swing, slides, a wooden jeep, and ride-on tractors that keep little ones happily entertained. There’s plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the sunshine, as well as cosy indoor spaces for those cooler days.

The menu is packed with delicious options made from their own and locally sourced produce, and the staff are absolutely amazing – always warm and welcoming. The counter is filled with tempting homemade treats, including cakes and sausage rolls, alongside a wide selection of the most delicious ice creams.

The venue also serves an afternoon tea which looks incredible and is definitely on our list to try next time!

Whether you’re planning a family day out or a relaxed catch-up over coffee and cake with friends, Farmer Brown’s is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended! 🌞🍰🍦

A perfect day exploring the heart of Lincoln ✨

We started along the walls of Lincoln Castle, where the legendary dragons kept watch 🐉—a magical sight that really brings the history to life.

From there, we wandered up to the breathtaking Lincoln Cathedral… and honestly, it never fails to amaze. The architecture alone is stunning, but stepping inside was something special.

The Easter garden on display was absolutely beautiful 🌼🌿—so peaceful and full of detail, it really captured the spirit of the season.

Lincoln, you’ve outdone yourself again 💛
