Ulster’s Grave Secrets returns to Magherafelt…

With a story more than 200 years old.

A hushed deal.
A demonic haunting.
An exorcism.

And a faithful priest, Father John Quinn, whose victory over darkness would help shape the roots of the Church in the area for generations to come!

Have you enjoyed the videos, stories, and strange little corners I’ve shared so far? I’ve been quietly building something to go alongside them.

A small website. A sort of mini digital archive of photos, footage and extra details that don’t always fit into a short video.

It’s a place for the old churches, graveyards, forgotten corners, unknown stories, and of course, "Ulster's Grave Secrets".

Some pages will stand on their own. Others will act as a companion to the videos.

I’ll be adding to it regularly as the trail continues.

It's a place to gather the Northern Ireland stories and places that rarely get the attention they deserve.

Most people know this part of Belfast for shopping, crowds, and the fire that made headlines in 2018.

But long before that, Belfast city centre had already witnessed a much darker chapter of the city’s history.

Bank Buildings was the setting for Belfast’s last public ex*****on.

In 1816, John Doe and John Magill were hanged here in front of a watching crowd, turning the heart of the city into a macabre public spectacle.

The Church and the Hanging Stone 🪦☠️

A shocking dark and forgotten history story from rural County Derry/Londonderry.

Hidden between Tobermore, Desertmartin and Draperstown, Kilcronaghan is another one of Northern Ireland’s old church sites - peaceful on the surface, but said to carry a shocking history that locals might rather forget.

According to local parish history, condemned prisoners were once brought to the old Kilcronaghan parish church when Desertmartin held the courthouse and gaol for old County Coleraine.

This forgotten story connects Northern Irish history, shocking forgotten events, old churches and graveyards, crime and punishment, Irish rebellion, old County Coleraine, and a hanging stone said to have projected above the church doorway.
