🌉 Moonlit Views of Porto's Dom Luís I Bridge 🌕

An evening by the Douro River, with the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge illuminated against the night sky.

The bridge is one of Porto's most recognisable landmarks, and seeing it lit up after dark offers a completely different perspective. With the moon overhead and the city lights reflecting on the river below, it was a great opportunity to stop, take in the view, and capture a few photographs.

Designed in the late 19th century, the bridge remains an impressive piece of engineering and continues to be a focal point of Porto's waterfront. Whether viewed from the riverbank, from above, or while crossing it, the structure dominates the city's skyline.

Spent some time along the waterfront enjoying the atmosphere and watching the lights dance across the Douro. Definitely one of those scenes that looks just as good in person as it does in photos.

It's easy to get distracted by the fresh produce, local delicacies, and bustling atmosphere of Valencia's Central Market, but some of the most impressive details are found above.

The market's magnificent dome, decorated with colourful ceramic designs and surrounded by elegant ironwork, showcases the beauty of early 20th-century architecture. Natural light fills the space, highlighting the craftsmanship that makes this much more than just a place to shop.

A perfect blend of function and artistry, Mercado Central remains one of Valencia's most iconic landmarks and a reminder that even everyday spaces can be extraordinary.

🏛️ Valencia Cathedral & Plaza de la Virgen 🏛️

Standing in the heart of Valencia's historic centre, the cathedral is a remarkable blend of architectural styles shaped by centuries of history. From its Gothic entrance and intricate stonework to the distinctive Renaissance arcades of the Almoina, every section reflects a different chapter in the city's past.

What makes this view so special is the contrast between the elegant arches, the detailed façade, and the open square that invites visitors to pause and take it all in. It's one of those places where history isn't confined to a museum, it's woven into the fabric of everyday city life.

A beautiful reminder of Valencia's rich cultural heritage and timeless architecture.

🇪🇸 Plaza Redonda – Valencia’s Hidden Circle 🇪🇸

This photo captures the unique layout of Plaza Redonda, one of Valencia’s most distinctive little squares. The circular design, central fountain, and ring of small shops give the plaza a cosy, enclosed feel that’s different from the city’s larger open spaces. The mix of traditional architecture with the modern canopy above creates an interesting contrast as you walk through the centre.

Plaza Redonda is known for its craft stalls, textiles, and small local shops, making it a great place to explore during a slow wander through Valencia’s old town. It’s a spot where you can pause for a moment, enjoy the atmosphere, and take in one of the city’s more unusual architectural corners.

🔔 The Miguelete Tower , Valencia Cathedral🔔

Rising above Valencia's historic centre, the iconic Miguelete Tower has watched over the city for centuries. Its Gothic design, intricate stone carvings, and commanding presence make it one of the most recognisable landmarks in Valencia.

What stood out to me in this view was the incredible detail in the craftsmanship. From the ornate upper sections of the tower to the blue-tiled domes below, every element reflects the rich architectural heritage of the city. Combined with the dramatic sky, it creates a scene that feels both timeless and impressive.

A beautiful reminder of how history and architecture continue to shape the character of Valencia today.

🇪🇸 Valencia’s Historic Market 🇪🇸

There’s something captivating about looking up and discovering beauty where you least expect it.

At the heart of Valencia’s iconic Central Market, this stunning dome rises above the hustle and bustle below, blending art, engineering, and craftsmanship into one remarkable design. The intricate patterns, delicate floral details, and natural light pouring through the windows create a space that feels both grand and inviting.

What makes it even more impressive is that this masterpiece is part of a working market, proving that everyday places can be extraordinary. A beautiful reminder that architecture has the power to transform even the simplest moments into something memorable.

🌊🏛️ City of Arts and Sciences — Valencia 🇪🇸

One of Valencia’s most recognisable landmarks, the City of Arts and Sciences is an incredible mix of futuristic architecture, water and open space.

Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the complex includes museums, exhibition spaces, an opera house and one of Europe’s largest oceanographic parks. Its striking white structures and flowing curves have become an iconic part of Valencia’s skyline.

The calm water in front of the buildings creates fantastic reflections and adds another dimension to the architecture, making this a great location for photography.
