We set out with plans to explore somewhere different today, but the weather had other ideas with its constant bursts of rain. Still, we made the most of it with a scenic drive, & after discovering the places we had in mind for a coffee were closed, it was lovely to stop for a hot drink .fairfaxarms in Gilling. Best of all, we eventually caught a break in the weather & enjoyed a pleasant stroll around the village to round off the day. 🌾

There’s also something rather special opening at the Temple of the Four Winds this weekend. Library of the Four Winds, a new installation by internationally renowned British artist & designer , opens this Saturday. 🙌

Created to celebrate the National Year of Reading, the luminous revolving artwork honours the Temple’s original purpose as a place for reading & refreshments, as envisioned by Castle Howard’s architect, Sir John Vanbrugh. 🌾

Surrounded by four concentric tables where visitors can read, draw, talk, eat & listen, the installation also features a striking sculpture made from hundreds of books, curated from the personal libraries of Sir John Vanbrugh & Es Devlin. 📚✨

A beautiful meeting of art, architecture & imagination, set against the backdrop of one of Yorkshire’s most treasured estates. If Castle Howard has been on your list for a while, this may just be the perfect excuse to visit. 🤍

A slow afternoon drive through the picturesque countryside led us to Nunnington to visit the all new . ☕️

The most wonderfully cosy setting, a thoughtfully curated menu, & surrounded by some lovely local independent businesses. A real gem tucked away in one of North Yorkshire’s prettiest villages. 🌾

The perfect place to escape the hustle & bustle for an hour or two, savour a good coffee, & enjoy a slower pace of life. 🇬🇧

One we’ll certainly be returning to.

Going away definitely helped reignite my creative side, & I don’t think I realised just how much burnout I’d been carrying until I stepped away for a while. Having the chance to explore new places & take a break from my usual routine gave me the space to reset, find inspiration again, & remember why I love creating in the first place. ❤️

Coming back, I’m feeling excited, motivated, & full of fresh ideas. I can’t wait to get stuck back into doing what I love & sharing more of it with all of you. ✨

One thing I’ve been working on is having some new stickers made that double up as little business cards. I wanted something fun, memorable, & easy to leave behind in places I visit. I’ll admit, I completely forgot to leave some in a few of the places I stopped at, but I did manage to leave them in a handful of spots along the way. Hopefully the people who found them liked them & maybe even checked out my work! 🤞

It’s been such a refreshing break, but I’m really looking forward to getting back to creating, making new things, & seeing where this next chapter takes me. 🇬🇧

Whatever it is about East Anglia, it seems to have worked its magic on me. The slower pace, beautiful scenery, & time away from the usual day-to-day gave me exactly the reset I didn’t realise I needed. Safe to say it’s done the trick! 🦀

Tomorrow I turn 31! 😱

Thirty-one feels less like becoming someone new, & more like returning to yourself with greater honesty.

You realise how quickly time moves, how little appearances matter, & how precious peace, health, love, & genuine connection really are. ✨

Some dreams changed shape.
Some people stayed.
Some versions of you had to be left behind.

But there’s comfort in knowing you no longer need to have everything figured out. You just need to keep becoming — quietly, truthfully, & at your own pace. ❤️

Here’s to 31 🎈

Today I had a lovely little totter around Burnham Deepdale. 🛍️

I wandered around at and picked up a few little souvenirs to take home, then finally had a look inside the church — we always admire it from the outside but had never actually gone in before. And it was cold, which felt absolutely fantastic.

I also learned that there are around 180 surviving round-tower churches in East Anglia, while in most other parts of Britain they’re actually quite rare. I love the architecture around here, and the history behind these churches is fascinating: they’re mostly found in areas where there wasn’t much workable building stone, so they were built using knapped flint instead. Flint makes sharp corners difficult to construct, which is why the towers are so wonderfully thick and round.

Since I’d walked from the village we’re staying in, I decided to get the bus back — and honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to ride a bus more in my life. The little Link service runs everywhere, from King’s Lynn all the way to Fakenham, and it was ridiculously fun. I was absolutely delighted to finally get my opportunity to use it! 🙌

I honestly don’t think I realised just how much I needed this holiday until I got here. Norfolk has given me so much more than just time away — it’s given me peace, clarity & the chance to properly breathe again. 🌾🌊

There’s a reason this part of Britain feels so special & unlike anywhere else. The atmosphere is calmer, the pace of life softer, & the people have a warmth that instantly makes you feel welcome. Everything here gently reminds you to slow down, breathe a little deeper & truly take in the beauty of the moment you’re living in.

Whether it’s the endless countryside, the peaceful coastline, the sea air or just the feeling of escaping the constant noise of everyday life, Norfolk always has a way of making everything feel lighter. It’s the kind of place that quietly heals you without you even realising it’s happening. ✨

Over the last few days I’ve felt myself becoming more relaxed, more grounded & more like myself again. Sometimes you don’t realise how mentally & emotionally exhausted you’ve been until somewhere finally gives your mind the chance to truly rest. 🐚

I’ll always be grateful for what this place has done for me & how it’s made me feel. Heading back to Yorkshire refreshed, emotionally recharged & genuinely rejuvenated, with a clearer mind, a fuller heart & a little piece of me staying in Norfolk forever. 🤍
