Injuries, How To Get Over Them And How To Prevent Them 👊🏻
Been a while since a non fitness photoshoot blog post and it’s a good one. With gym’s shut a lot of people are turning to home training to keep active, but a lot of people are still getting injured. This blog post has a bit about preventing injuries and maybe why some people are not being as careful as they would be if they were at the gym. 🏋🏻 Links in the bio 👊🏻
But the part I wanted to focus on was helping people get through their injuries and start training again from a mental health point of view. For me personally if I can’t train my mood drops, it’s something I love to do and if I don’t have that routine then I really struggle.
There’s a link for a lot of people whether they can’t train because their injured or they can’t train because the gyms closed. A lot of people’s mental health is currently being effected. So when I’m injured and can’t train this is what I do:
1 - Find myself a project I can work on to keep my mind busy. This instagram and my blog was amazing when I was injured during lockdown. I was able to think of blog topics, write about them and create photoshoots (non lifting based photoshoots).
2 - Stay active as much as I can. Sometimes not always possible but it could be a step goal or training only a select few muscles and being veryyyy careful.
3 - Talk to people. Surround yourself with people to help you through the patch. It’s fine to be open and honest and say I’m not doing alright. I know for a fact that there’s relationships with people I’ve built up on here who check in one me and I am eternally grateful to them. You know who you are
If you’ve read this far thanks, as always its important to create a conversation with regards anything mental health related. So if you’re comfortable, what do you do when you can’t train that helps you? Whether it be through injury or with the gym’s not being open.
