WHAT YOU DOING TOMORROW - a late night call off the subs-bench from Rupert from ….had me off the sofa camera prepping & alarm set!! I was off to Brooklands to shoot the London to Brighton Classic Car Run. A cool mix of 270 classic, sports & kit cars would wind their way through the countryside to the iconic Madeira Drive in Brighton. I had a great time navigating my way along the ‘tulip diagram’ route to capture shots of crews enjoying the great route Andrea at had put together for them. Cheers Rupe for putting me up to step in to the team for this one….it was fun!! Here’s a few of my favourites

SO CUTE!! - where’s that bucket list again….PUFFINS ✅ It took 3 visits on Friday, Saturday and grabbing a final 2 more hours before we drove home on Sunday to but we got to see these gorgeous little Puffins. We arrived late afternoon on Friday & drove straight to Flamborough Head. OMG the waves were so powerful turning the sea into a foam party for the Seals to play in….when they weren’t chilling on the beach. Even in the strong winds the seabirds just glide by so gracefully….even managed to silhouette a S**g against the white water. Saturday morning dawned bright & sunny, so it was up to Bempton Cliffs with our fingers crossed to see the little clown faces, though 1 or 2 had been spotted & Julie got a fleeting look through a kind volunteer’s scope, by time I looked he’d flown away. The other birds at the cliffs kept us entertained though…..the frowning expression & blue eyes of the Gannets are so cool to try to photograph. Turn around from the sea & the grassland & fences are alive with tiny little birds. We are definitely not twitchers & have no clue what any of them were but the Apps on our phones made it such fun. Sunday was time to head home again but not before one last dash to ….have you ever tried to hold a Nikon Z9 & a 500mm lens with 🤞🤞 As soon as we got to the reserve entrance the volunteers told us that they had been radioed through that a couple of Puffins were on the cliff face at the nearest viewing point…..we didn’t hang about!!! Sure enough there they were….we almost couldn’t believe it. These pretty little seabirds were something we had wanted to see for years & they are just as gorgeous as you imagined. Their little faces just make you smile. Thank you to the volunteers at you all made our trip so much better. The time you took to point out & explain what we could see & how to tell which bird was which. Letting people look through your scopes at the birds on their nests while you were egg counting ….just made want to visit again.

SHELSLEY VIRGIN - really enjoyed my first ever visit to yesterday to shoot the Hillclimb. What a great fun event & a cracking venue….everybody was having a fab time. An amazing range of cars made their way up the hill for 3 runs throughout the day. Single seaters, road cars, rally cars, super cars….some were having a real go, others less so, but all had lots of fun!! Thank you for asking me along. I look forward to my next visit….just give me a moment while my legs recover….by eck that hill gives you a workout!! 🤪

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY SIR DAVID - Back in 2018 I was asked by if I could help out & take a few photos at a special event in the Park. I hadn’t had a camera very long, just over a year maybe. RP was one of the first places I went to have fun with this new hobby. Nervously I said yes, especially as they said it was to record groups of people planting Elm trees that they had sponsored….what I hadn’t realised was Sir David Attenborough was going to be planting 🌳 No1 😳 He was as lovely in person as we all imagine he would be & had so much time for everybody, chatting, signing autographs & having photos
As many of you will know over the years as my photography as grown & I spend a lot of time trackside shooting motorsport…I love going back to the park to photograph the Red Deer & the rutting season just for my quiet space… so when asked if it was ok to use some of those old photos in a special Centenary Celebration booklet they were producing. I was more than happy & thrilled to be a tiny part of Sir David’s 100th birthday celebration. Thank you Sir David for being such a large part of so many childhoods watching your amazing programmes from around the world, opening our eyes to nature & whats around us. Happy Birthday

PHWEFFFFF….. Been a busy few weeks behind the Nikons….but it’s been mega!!! This weekend it was 3 days shooting There was some amazing mixture of classic racing cars on display providing some awesome action on track…popping, banging & wheel waggling on every corner of this cracking circuit.

GRAND PRIX MONACO HISTORIQUE ….DONE ✅ - this fantastic race weekend in probably the most iconic motorsport location in the world delivered yet again!!! It’s such a privilege to be able to say this is my job to shoot here….4th time now & I still pinch myself shooting in The Tunnel cos I can’t quite believe I’m there 😀 Thank to all my clients for trusting me with your image packages again this weekend …..oh & it was a real buzz to see ‘my’ helmet flying round the principality 🤣

FUN AROUND THE PADDOCK…. I managed to have a couple of hours enjoying a walk around the paddocks at Goodwood Members Meeting. Hitting some of my target cars yesterday freed up some space in my shooting schedule today. Been a while since I’ve had time for a mooch & snap-away for fun….I really enjoyed it !!!

IF CARLSBERG DID ‘LAST LAP BATTLES’ …. What a scrap in the last corner of the Win Percy Trophy at Goodwood Members Meeting. Goodwood delivered at mega track action throughout the race card. From BTCC Saloon cars, single seaters, old favourite SF Edge & Super Touring Cars to in the Brawn F1….great day!!!

UP CLOSE & GORGEOUS - fab day spent where was able to feed the Elephants 🐘 We both adore these beautiful animals & it was lovely to watch Julie enjoy her treat from 🧑‍🎄 today. While Julie was up close with the Elephants, I was thoroughly enjoying watching these amazing animals move logs around their berm to stand on so they could reach the gap nets…such clever animals! Her elephant experience was at the end of the day…so we spent the first part looking at the other residents & a wee bonus of feeding the Penguins. Thank you to zoo keeper Scott who made their Elephant experience such fun ….& taking my camera down to get a nice close up for me.

NEW WORK IN PRINT - This was a fab shoot with for & this lovely VW Camper. It had been in the family since day 1 & was packed full of beautiful original details….even down to the fold-out table & dedicated hook to hang the shaving mirror. It’s super cool seeing my work in print, always interesting to see which shots make the collection across the 4 or 5 pages of the feature …..oh & a wee cheeky bonus in this months issue…..one in a series of adverts I shot for 😀
