16th May 2026 - Gateshead Flyover Aerial Photos.

The photos shows the demolition team working to demolish one of the flyover supports. The photos show a section of the concrete flyover that has already been completely brought down, leaving a large field of rubble, twisted rebar, and exposed structural supports. Contractors are actively breaking apart the remaining deck edge, pulverizing the concrete, and clearing the debris field to process the material.

The Newcastle skyline is continuing to evolve as major progress takes shape at Newcastle University’s Castle Leazes Student Accommodation development at Spital Tongues. This development will provide accommodation for 2,009 students, making it one of the city’s most significant recent student housing projects.

Main Contractor : Bowmer + Kirkland
Contract Value : £274 million
Split into 2 Phases

Phase 1 will deliver 788 beds in time for 2028/29 intake

Phase 2 will deliver the remaining accommodation in time for the 2029/30 student intake

🏗️ Then vs Now | Queen Alexandra 6th Form College 🏗️

These photos capture the dramatic transformation of the former Queen Alexandra 6th Form College site between May 2023 and May 2026.

What was once part of the college campus is now being cleared to make way for 47 new homes, marking the next chapter in the site’s history. The scale of change over just three years is incredible to see from the air.

From the 7th May to the 12th May, I captured the dramatic transformation of the former Tynemouth College or Queen Alexandra 6th Form College site from the air — and the change is unbelievable.

In just five days, huge sections of the site disappeared, including the demolition of the iconic Hexagon building. This video gives you a unique time-lapse style look at how quickly and professionally the site is being cleared for redevelopment.

Heavy machinery, controlled demolition, material recycling, and full site clearance — all captured from angles you’d never normally see.
