Some good variety in jobs this week. This photo, for example, is an archaeological dig.

Its made up of 53 photos shot in a grid. By using the GPS data captured with each photo, software can easily build them into a composite photo meaning that you can zoom in and maintain detail.

Don't look too closely at this one though - the original photo was 355Mb - Facebook has paired that down to around 16Mb. Still pretty clear though.

As for what it's telling us, better minds than mine from Durham University are working on that right now.

Just a boy and his Tentbox

I was doing some filming in Appleby last week so I decided to book into a campsite for the night and use my second favourite thing after my drone - our Tentbox. When I got there not only was I the only one there but I was the only anything there other than one tap.

It was a great nights sleep.

I think the drone captures the solitude and beauty of the A66 rather well...

Sometimes its not always obvious...

OK - not everyone has a roof like this to contend with but the risk is the same. It's obvious when there's a massive hole but, before things get that bad, it can be a lot harder to spot - especially from the ground.

Using the DJI Air 3 with its 3x zoom lens we were able to quickly spot the missing tile on this very large and, overall, healthy looking roof.
